A 95 year old woman about to lose her battle with cancer told her daughter goodbye for probably the last time at the gate ….only the TSA had other plans.
After subjecting the dying 95 year old to an additional 45 minutes of screening the TSA told her she had to either remove her adult diaper or not fly.
Her own daughter had to wheel her mother into the restroom and help her remove her adult diaper just to appease the TSA.
Understandably, the daughter was in tears seeing her 95 year old dying mother treated that way.
What a great last memory for a child to have of their mother.

I think enough is enough. this "agency" has been out of control since it was formed shortly after 9-11. I can tell you horror story after horror story just about how they airline treat flight crew. it's insain.

I would step in and create one hell of a problem for the TSA short yellow busers in defense of that elderly woman - obviously nobody else did. Now there's a shocker.
Let's just watch the old woman get harassed.

Having said that whatever supervisor that allowed that should be fired, beaten to a bloody pulp, and sentenced to hand-scrubbing portable toilets at massive outdoor events with only a toothbrush and no gloves...

Obviously at first glance of this story and headline, most would play to this ladies defense. But really, what would happen if they look at this frail woman and just let her go on the plane without really searching her and she ends up having a bomb or something?? I mean the chances are slim, but why couldn't there be a chance? She is dying and maybe pissed off for some reason so she wants to take everyone she can with her?? Or maybe someone helping her and her mother along the way snuck something in. Nowadays who knows what goes through people's minds.
It would be like a high school not responding to 1 of the hundreds of bomb threats they receive and it ends up blowing a classroom out with kids in it...If this happened on Sept. 12th 2001 would anybody say something?? I don't like some of this shit going on as much as the next person, but it is being done for our safety, the TSA agents are the ones getting on the plane, you are...

Let me get this straight. The TSA’s only choices were to “let her go on the plane without really searching her” or to subject a 95 year old woman dying of cancer to go through an additional 45 minutes of screening and then tell her she has to take off her underwear if she wants to get on a flight to get medical care?
I don’t know what’s more fucked up: the government for doing shit like this or the citizens that defend them for doing it.

I agree, bring the Troops home and let them do the job. These TSA people are idiots with NO Common Sense.

So what happens if her daughter is a complete nut job and has an explosive device on her mother which will blow up the plane and you, like others, have a loved one on it?? How does TSA or the airline explain how they let something like this happen??
It's a lose-lose scenario because they end up being the bad guys when they are doing a job. They are only enforcing the rules that they are being told to follow. Let's face it, this isn't the America of the 1950's anymore....Criminals and terrorists are coming up with all kinds of ways to reak havok. Everyone wants to bitch the minute something bad happens and break down all the flaws, but now to scrutinize this is a complete hipocritical thought process

This is true. And when there are stories of people bringing gutted dead babies on flights filled with drugs and just carrying the "sleeping" baby through security, then you can't put a limit on what a terrorist will do.
That being said, they could have probably waved a wand over that granny's ass and figured out there wasn't a bomb in her pooper. what would taking the diaper off have proved that a sensor or a dog couldn't have figured out?

I agree - Terrorists will go to any length to kill and I HATE what TSA did here but if it saves a life in the long I'm ok with it. I know most won't agree but

I'm sure stepping in and obstructing the TSA would have gone real well for you. right thing to do or not, fucking with the TSA in an airport security check would probably not worth the trouble.

As with most of the everything, in hindsight, maybe this situation could have defintely handled better...One thing I don't get is how the daughter doesn't have another depends on her to put a clean diaper on the mother when it was found she has soiled herself. Trying to pin the fact that this lady was being wheeled around the airport without any kind of underwear or whatever on TSA is such biased journalism

Enough with the strawmen. No is saying the 95 year old shouldn’t have been checked at all. The issue is forcing a dying 95 year old into an additional 45 minutes of screening and then making her daughter remove her mother’s underwear if her mother is to receive medical care.
What part of this are you having trouble understanding?
