Moving to Tampa - I need a Job - Who can Help

If you already have a resume on the jobsites and aren't getting any response, make a new one. You say you are looking for a job in business and have some accounting experience. Make a resume geared towards that and recruiters will email/call you. They are vultures and don't get paid unless you get the job so work with them. There are always accounting jobs in finance. As Hutchemall said you have an uphill battle if you are relying on your degree to get you the job. Good luck

I updated my resume last week.  i will look into the mortgage companies, i think when i get down there i will have a better chance to get a job, lets hope, anyways thanks for the help dave,

I can't help you with a job, but I did enjoy my visit to Mons Venus a few years back.
 
Also, forget the mortgage job. unless you know how to get leads and know FHA and have a mortgage background, I doubt you will have success in what is a horrid market right now for that industry.  And I don't think it will be improving anytime soon.

I went to the University of Tampa for two years and know a lot of people within the industry down there, but as far as psychology, I really don't know that many people.  My advisor during the college years was a psych professor, but he was a douche and I really didn't know him that much.  Great city with tons of incredible stuff to do down there.  You will have a great time I'm sure of it.  Only two words of advice I have for you......

As some of the guys in here have already mentioned.  It's right on Dale Mabry pretty much across from Raymond James stadium.  Odyssey 2000 has all the glitz and glamour, but Mons Venus is the shit

what industry do you know a lot of people, i am not really looking for a job in psych, i have 4 years experience with a mechanical company.

 

i will def remember that place, i think i have passed it a couple times already when i went down for a visit

I have a B.A. in Sport Management, so I got to know a couple of the people down there for that.  Not too many, a lot of the professors however I was good with.  Probably not even there any more.  Haven't really kept in touch too well, so it's not really much of a help.
