UPDATE: FEBRUARY 10, 2025 At 17 Months now into this ridiculous debacle we are finally into the Stretch Turn!!! February 19, 2025 is the final Sober House application date. What this means is John will be cleared to enter his Sober House upon release from Warren State Prison, Maine. For those of you not familiar with this it's just a necessary proceedural step where his Medicals and overall progress is double checked and verified so his Probationary period with the State of Maine can commence. Sober House living usually lasts for a 30 day period and gives the ex-inmate an opportunity to reconnect with any family, friends, employment opportunities, etc that would be conducive to his Probation. April 7, 2025 is the Hard Release date meaning the last day he will spend in lock up although if the Sober House is ready for him slightly before that date (a bed is open for him) he could be released sooner.
Got a letter from Johnny today. He loved the EAGLES yesterday!
We've been talking a lot about his current job & he's been introduced to the food preparation industry & it sounds like he's learning a lot He regularly gives me the rundown on the meals he takes part in preparing. Although there's always a job with his skill set of carpentry, maybe a job in food industry could be in his future.
He sounds good & staying positive. Johnny knows he's a short timer & just needs to maintain control. He doesn't have a beef with anyone there & commented on how most keep the rules & not looking for any trouble which is a good thing where chaos usually rules. Maybe the Maine system has learned to treat people with respect & in most cases, respect will be returned.
Great to hear some good news about a good man.

psilocybin is the correct spelling. Hate to be the grammar police; but if someone wants to research it, psilocybin has an 83% success rate with depression, anxiety, addiction, PTSD, etc, and a host of other neurological issues. (Johns Hopkins Univ has over 60+ peer reviewed journals published) Another plant medicine, ibogaine, is detailed in a recent Joe Rogan podcast with former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, & William Hubbard; a great listen. 60 minutes had a great segment on it a couple weeks ago.

You’ve been a great friend to John over the past year. Just to have somebody to correspond with by mail means so much to that person who’s locked up.
I am in touch with his old apartment landlord who is holding all his carpentry tools. About $2,000 worth of stuff. Planning on recovering all of this so John can get jobs lined up when he finally gets out of his Sober House.
