need some advice here as i am in a big shithole with my bookie!

I am 17 years old and am a senior in high school.  I recently started betting with a bookie, that was shown to me by one of my friends.  I have had a job for 3 months now and have saved up a good $1,000.  Last week i lost $85 wich was no big deal and i paid up right away.  This week i started out great and it all went downhill from there.  I am now down $1,025, and payday is tuesday.  I have no clue what to do at this point and i need some advice.  I am thinking about just making 2 $500 bets tommorow in hopes of breaking even before payday.  If i lose, I will just confess that I cant pay up.  If my parents find out that I lost all the money i worked over 3 months for, I cant imagine what theyll feel like.  I believe the bookie i am betting with is in his early 20's, and i dont know what hell do if i dont pay.  Please give me some advice on what to do...I just cant give up all $1,000 i have worked hundreds of hours for, just becuase of one bad week and irresponsible week of betting.  Please help!

yeah, get a prepaid visa and bet online. It's easier to bet money when it's on credit. If you have to part with your money then it's harder. The best thing to do is stop before you get started as some people make money, but more lose, that's why Vegas has all those pretty lights and nice hotels. It's from gamblers. Get out before you get hooked. I have been gambling for about 16 years. I am trying to stop but it's hard as hell. Pay the grand and don't forget how shitty it feels to not have money. You almost always lose when you chase and then you will owe him 2 grand. And just because this guy is in his 20's, doesn't mean you won't get hurt. He's not the guy you have to worry about, but the people that are backing him. Just some advice.

pay him 500 and pay him a 100 every two weeks after that. That way you still have a little cash and you won't have to tell your parents.

pay it up and don't bet with him anymore.....may be 3 months of work but look at it as a life lesson. Is $1,000 worth getting your ass kicked or getting your family involved? Once you get out of school 1,000 isnt much at all. Do not let 1k have an impact on your future because as Jarret said he is probably backed by somebody and they won't hesitate to break some legs....in the future if you still want to gamble bet with money you have and put it online...bookies are no good especially with online being available

Dont bet tomorrow no matter what .Chasing money is losing money. Two call him up and tell him you go in a little over your head .Tell him you'll give him 300 on Monday and a 100 a week till you're all square .If he's been a bookie very long this will be ok with him. He might be mad but he wont say anything as long as he thinks he's getting hi money.Trust me this is the best option you have

If you are betting 50 here, 100 there, and all of a sudden bet 500 - 500, you won't need to call him Tuesday to tell him you are busted....he will know it as soon as he hangs up the phone.

i really want to know if this guy will do anything though first before paying him all the money i have worked for:

you make all the bets you want and w/e your down at the end of the week...thats what you owe...

he is cousins with this kid who is a junior in my high school.  He introduced my friend to the site, and then my friend showed me.

i heard he has like 70 clients or something, and im sure a lot of them lose a lot more than i do.  I just think he may not go after me for 1,000 bucks

Fuck him. Don't pay him shit. Take what little money you have and go buy a couple of rottweilers. If this guy tries to fuck with you stick the rots on him.

Bet 500 on Dallas/Milwaukee over 190

Man up and pay the man his money. I'm sure if the situation was reversed you would be screaming for your money. Don't bet with money you can't afford to lose. It's back to stacking shelves for another three months.

give him 500 then tell him you will pay him the rest 100 a week for 5 weeks.  1000 should be nothin to this bookie unless hes a joke.

Just a hunch, but if he's in his early 20's I bet he's a middle man for the real bookie.  I do the same thing, get clients for the big guy and get a cut of the losses, its a win-win for me.  We have guys that can't pay all the time, just tell him that you need a couple weeks to get the money, or set up a payment plan.  Real bookies understand this and will let you slide.  Wannabe bookies watch too much TV and think they have to rough you up.  I think if you reason with him you will be fine.

Just work out a payment plan with the guy. If he won't let you, then fuck him. It's not like he can go after you. Sure in the movies they claim to rough people up, however, the last thing a real book wants is to fuck someone up and you turn around and get his whole operation busted up by the cops. Think about it. They might verbally scare ya, but they won't go further than that for a mere $1000. GL

Would you have expected to get paid if you won $1000? Of course you would. Pay your debts and stop acting like a helpless girl.

Take a shot at it. If you lose, fess up, address it, and go on a payment plan.

He'll see your age....know you're young and dumb, and know what happened

If you lose,  key is communication and quick. The guy will appreciate it. I know what I'm talking about.....

KQC is obviously correct.

You owe the cash regardless.......No matter what happens, you pay.


Hell, my GF died, and I owe her money on help she gave me while I await my lawsuit I won.. (30K)....I set up a legally binding cotract with her legal heir (her daughter) to pay it back, eventhough my GF is dead.....

It's the right thing to do.
