seriously.  if you want to bet on football or something, find your douchey friend that likes the team you're conference rivals with and bet him 20 bucks, twice a year.  you like the giants, your buddy likes the redskins, make a little bet, have fun.  what the fuck are you gambling with a bookie for?  think you're cool?  well, big surprise, you're a little idiot. 

My dad would let me bet a $10 4 team parlay once a week when I was in high school.  Now this kids losing $1,000 in a week.  Whats happened to our youth?

I am about the same which is why I told him to get out of it now. It's fun, makes the games more interesting. But it can lead to no life, no money at times and other things. As you said, if I knew then what I know now. I wouldn't have started...

Be honest with the book, tell him you're a moron and pay him 100 dollars every paycheck until you have satisfied the debt. If he's agressive an threatening tell him he gets nothing.

First off....why the hell are you betting on sports at the young age of 17?  You have no life experience.  Call it a general assumption of mine on the "no life experience" part.

Second.....what kind of "early 20's bookie" takes action from a high-school kid?  High-school kids generally don't have much money at all, let alone money to pay up on Tuesdays.

Tell homeboy that you'll get him the money.  Set up a payment plan with him (one that's reasonable).  Let him know that if he does anything out of order (harm family, harm you, etc) then he'll receive no more money & that you'll ensure he becomes a visitor in County.

Don't let him bullshit you.  Don't let him force you into something.  This is all in your hands.  Don't be cocky or ignorant with him, but let him know that your word is good.  Tell him that he won't get the whole amount right this moment, but he'll still get the whole amount - although it may take 2 - 3 months.

Last.......Don't place another wager until your debt is paid and until you're much, much older.

ok guys..i have an update for you...my bookie wouldnt let me do shit tonight!...i asked him if i cud make a 1000 dollar play and he said no..i asked if i cud do a 400 dollar parlay and he said no.  He is getting scared i wont pay up...the only way i cud make my money back tonight was to make 2 parlays each for 200 a piece.

parlay #1...bucks ml(-120) and cleveland +11

parlay #2..cleveland +11 and cleveland/balt over 40

this was the only possible way to win my $ back before payday.  If i wanted to make a str8 bet...max wouldve been 400..so i wudnt even have made half back.

It takes you 3 months to save $1,000, which means you save $333 a month.  You just bet $400 in one day...do you see a problem here?  Gambling is supposed to be fun, and I see Milwaukee is losing and the football game has no shot of going over, you just cost yourself 4 months of your life by being stupid and gambling what you didn't have.  You will get out of this hole, but I hope you learn something from this, dont waste your life stressing over sports, go out and live and have fun.

Not only that, the kid ask's for advice, but really doesn't want it unless it supports not paying the man which anyone looking out for his best interest would never advise
