This is such a TRAGIC story, Beets great job posting fund addresses.

I'm sure the family will be financially taken care of  for life especially by Rangers and JOSH HAMILTON. Gotta feel for Josh here, too.

 So many what if's involved. Does everybody realize that this was a rainout makeup game which Rangers were only 2 outs away from an officail game they were leading 7-0 when stopped! What if that kid wasn't on cellphone and tried to catch foul ball? What If Josh had only tossed it with a little more mustard, wider or  higher?

Unbeeleevable sequence of events to end an obviously well conditioned fireman's life

I made mine... well actually my kids did..

Thanks to those who made donations.. please let us know if u make one..even $5 would not be bad.. u know what a 6yr old boy would do with $5...,lol.. and u think this poor baby deserves everything he wants...

btw.. I got the country club down here to donate a couple grand..they will be matching any donations made at the club up to 2k...

I am not one that EVER donates money(mainly out of fear that it won't get to the intended target), but this whole thing has really got to me and I am contributing to this man's family...

I don't know why, but this thing has been on my mind for the last 24 hours and usually things like this don't bother me...

What's ironic Crow is you got to be wondering what's going on in Josh's mind considering all the shit he's done in his life........Tonite, Josh nailed somebody in the head with a FOUL BALL off his bat, bloodied em, had to be taken to hospital..

That dude barely leaned over rail too. Rangers asses are on the hook here That don't want to raise rail but something has to be done to prevent this from EVER happening again. Gotta classic tale about same thing which I'll share sometime down road...

i was 24 and in the right field bleachers in yankee stadium with my dad and brother

jim edmonds (angels) hit a batting practice home run. hit off some guy's chest behind us and rolled to my dad. he picked it up and gave it right to me without a seconds hesitation

i will never forget that and understand the lessons of selflessness that goes into being a father...and i still have the ball.

goose - this is why a father tries to get a foul ball for his kid. even at 24, i was still his little boy at a ball game

There was an article in this mornings paper about this accident. Hamilton said he'll live with this forever and is meeting with the family. What a HORRIBLE accident, a Dad trying to get his son a ball, Hamilton had tossed it into the stands for Stone, and saw him fall over the railing out of site. He asked about the man the next inning but only found out after the game that he had died from his injuries. God rest, young man, he was a firefighter and 39, the same age as my son.
