Counterbalancing? Are you serious. Fighting racism with racism? Thats the answer?
The question is wether this situation is messed or not. If you say it is not then your moral compass is pointing toward fucked in the head. Cowboys HAVE to interview a black coach before they can hire Garrett. No way Garrett isnt getting the job. Black coaches should stand in defience and refuse to interview simply because they are black.
Shame on you Scal, I expected more from you. Most proud "black" people dont want handouts....just like whites dont want them.
You don't even understand the definition of racism to comprehend my (or your own) argument.
Go look up the definition of racism and get back to me when you see where you are at fault.

So the NFLs policy is in place because whites, by part 1 of the definition, think they are better than blacks and thats why blacks havent got "upper level" jobs. So now, teams are forced to interview them, basically affirmative action.
How come they dont have to interview Mexicans or women? Why is ok for Dallas to have to inteview a black, but Minn doesnt have to interview a white? Its called a double standard, plain and simple. Thats "reverse" racism.
My fault is being correct and trying to argue with someone who has a closed mind

That was 2 weeks ago. Get over it. Maybe you should hang around with the kittykat
Hey Tim -- you are wrong twice. First of all, Train was in the Penalty Box last week so I was unable to address him personally and had to track him down. Its like throwing rocks and running away.
Secondly, being a man of your word never has a time limit.

What else could you do but call it a gentlemens wager?
You are pathetic and if you had any balls you would have put your money were your mouth is. Its that simple. The main focus of covers is to bet for real - not make worthless box bets. Its about money.

And what the hell is wrong with affirmative action...
To Bigots it's basically saying "Fuck you white man"...that's all you'll ever see...
But affirmative action applies to women as well...women like your mother, wife, sister, daughter etc.
But white males don't think of affirmative action in these terms. It's only about blacks and hispanics who couldn't qualify otherwise.
And it's not reverse racism because the NFL most certainly doesn't believe the black candidate is superior to the white candidate solely because of race. They are simply providing an OPPORTUNITY.
The same OPPORTUNITY that you have thrived on all your life due to your white skin and you even know it...

There is something very wrong with that sort of thinking. I'm missing that one. You're effectively saying that we should slow down and let lesser people catch up.
You've never been in a leadership role have you?

The problem is that people have short memories and believe I START these threads...most of the time I'm here to combat the messages within only...
All you have to do is say you know what that is racism. I dont care who its against, who suffers or benefits. Racism is racism no matter. The problem with the world today is that no one in office including Obama has the balls to stand on that little podium of his and tell ALL RACISM NEEDS TO GO.

Its not surprising that something this ignorant is coming from the state of Alabama.
I was reading your comment and was thinking "what kind of dumbfuck would say that?? I proceed to look at your state -- sure as shit: Alabama --- that explains it.
Stop giving the rest of the State a bad name with comments from a Hundred years ago.
Also, go read a few books because $8.00 an hour forever doesnt cut the mustard -- and so far thats the path you are headed.
I guess this is where i defend myself, tell you the education that i have, and how much money i earn a year. Not going to happen. Go fuck yourself Kelly. It's usually dumbfucks like yourself that reference a whole state when speaking to an individual. I'll keep my eyes open for you in the future. Stupid motherfucker

As a former resident of Birmingham and someone who has a daughter getting an A-Rate education at The University Of Alabama, I 100% concur. Roll Tide!

It makes you wonder if there wasn't an impending lockout, would Marvin Lewis be sacked?

Amazing that the only piece of racism that this guy's probably experienced is Garret's and Frazier's hiring process. What was the purpose of posting this...to get all of the other rascists who hide behind cpu to validate your thoughts that you were insecure about?

Yeah, It has never been a problem. Leave it like it was in 1990 with 70% of the players being black and 1 interim black coach coach in the whole league. Yep, left up to the good ole boys, there was equality alright.
Do you guys know there were 2 black coaches between 1930 and 1989? TWO
How many standard deviations above the mean does something have to be for people not to consider it random?

If you put up $700MM for a sports team, would you want to be told who you HAVE to hire?

Just as with AA, it's all about providing ACCESS to opportunities. They don't tell you that you have to hire a minority, but they want minorities to at least have access to being CONSIDERED (ie. credentials reviewed and interviewed if appropriate) So it has NOTHING to do with racism or reverse racism.
It's a good idea on its face, but it looks completely ridiculous in a situation like Dallas where it's just an exercise after the decision was already made. It's insulting.
