My "quote" button isn't working, must be part of god's plan I guess...but to respond to post #150 (Kitty)...all I can say is: exactly.
Now god is "pursuing" us? WTF? Where does this craziness end? Everything we (the non-believers) rant about is all based on observable facts. Every-single-thing that Drake or whoever else posts is just some wacky commentary on a retarded blurb that some half demented maniac scribbled down somewhere.
"GOD must exist because when I was taking a shit at the bar the other day (I know, nobody takes dumps at bars) somebody had scratched 'HE is almighty' on the bathroom stall door...more proof for you sinners that HE is out there and HE will find you!"
So...there is a creepy old man with a flowing white beard who hides in the clouds, has NEVER revealed himself, doesn't answer prayers (at least he didn't for the millions starving to death in concentration camps), plays mind games by hinting that he exists in the complexities of nature, but is also secretly pursuing me...do I have that all right? Why would anyone sign up for that silliness? So basically god is an egomanical bastard who gets his thrills by tricking you into believing in him or sending you to hell if you don't?

They didnt even have to read it....Society was changing rapidly. You could almost say that Christianity was polarizing society to an extent. People were changing their lives based on what happened. You didnt have to read the Gospels to see what was happening...
Dare i say, their would be some skeptics who would have to have investigated what was going on and logically If all what had happened was BS, then not only would this have been passed down verbally, but somewhere along the line, would have been documented to prevent furture generations from following this and in effect save future generations.
Yet, we see nothing. I personally find this very very strange considering how much what happened transformed sociey.

I know, SYSTEM, I think I'm done ranting, I can't keep it up anymore.
Usually people believing in whatever they want doesn't bother me. Hell, I have family members who are very religious and we just don't talk about it. But every now and then these believers just irritate the fuck out of you.
Before my kid was born this guy I work with was trying to tell me my wife shouldn't have the c-section she wanted and should let everything be natural because that's 'god's way.' What fuckin balls, really. THAT's the kind of stunt these people pull that get common sense thinkers like myself so annoyed. Just shut the fuck up and keep your superstitions to yourself.
Dont we live in a society of free speach? Isnt everyone allowed to have an opinion?
Are they physically harming you?
Tolerance......

The question of who created God cannot be asked, simply because if you do so, it means that you are applying causality laws that we see and understand in our naturalistic realm ALSO apply to that outside it...You dont have a basis to make that assumption, therefore, the question cannot be asked....
Picture a human being that has never been in the ocean/water before....
What you are trying to say is...the laws of buoyancy and viscosity that we know and experience out of the water, are the same in the water.....
Well, once you go into the water, you will find out that its not the same...

Lol...wow, now I just think you're insane dude.
And the only thing that "baffles" me is how you'd cling to an outdated and foolish fairy tale that was invented by men, written by men, and passed down thru history by men.
Does that mean that every single person that lived on the planet prior to Jesus is now burning in hell with a pitchfork up their ass? That hardly seems fair...
How do you know that when you die you won't be greeted by Ra, the Egyptian sun god? That religion was around far far longer than Christi-insanity.
From someone who said "Something can come from nothing".
How is Christianity outdated? Dont murder, steal , lie or rape? Yep, they are outdated.......

Why are charities around the world allowed to have tax exemptions YET, the catholic church whose MAJOR function is charitable works shouldnt be allowed that status?
Why the bias and hatred?

Again, here you go again trying to apply laws of our naturalistic realm to that outside it...
Why dont you ask, "how can God go without food and water for so long? no being can survive that long without food and water"...You keep equivocating...

What the ? Dude, you are just embarressing yourself...seriously, big time...your posts make no sense at all, completely irrational, full of ad hominems, emotional hatred...
Nothing you have said is any argument against God's existence..

Good point Rostos...I guess if a harmless old woman walked up to me and advised me to boil my daughter in acid I should be tolerant and give serious consideration to her suggestion...
And that whole "things were changing rapidly at that time" argument is bogus. It's the same reason that nonsense like Scientology comes into being. Hopeless people looking desperately for some answer to life's mysteries take the easy way out and assume it's just too complex, it has to have a creator. I completely agree that Christianity had like a wildfire effect, it spread fast and quick and everywhere, but so what? That doesn't mean it's true. You're only looking at a tiny tiny fraction of time for human beings. Give it another 2,000 years and it will have morphed into something else. And that is because humans will always tweak and manipulate religion to suit them at that given time.
Christ I can't wait for artificial intelligence to just dominate this planet already. I'd rather have SkyNet wipe us all out and replace wacky religions with cold, efficient, logical binary code.

Here is a question for non believers...
A central part of our Christian belief is the fall. Ie, mans rejection of God. Since this, humans and their gene code have been corrupted, ie, our gene code is not perfect, hence diseases etc etc.
Humans since have come out with all sorts of deformities since ...
Science has also made many cures to these diseases....
Hypothetically, if a part of the gene that was repsonsible for believing in God was found, and you (non believers) found that yours was corrupted (as any other gene code could), and science found a drug to cure this, resulting in you believing...would you take it?

Dude, seriously, what is wrong with you? What does this have to do with anything?

So, you deny the explosion of churches? Persecution of Gospel and Christ followers, polarization of society? Dude, do some homework first. 2000 years time? Just like many people said the bible wouldnt last this long, they are wrong..

How is that something from nothing example coming along?
