So...there is a creepy old man with a flowing white beard who hides in the clouds, has NEVER revealed himself, doesn't answer prayers (at least he didn't for the millions starving to death in concentration camps), plays mind games by hinting that he exists in the complexities of nature, but is also secretly pursuing me...do I have that all right?  Why would anyone sign up for that silliness?  So basically god is an egomanical bastard who gets his thrills by tricking you into believing in him or sending you to hell if you don't?

They didnt even have to read it....Society was changing rapidly. You could almost say that Christianity was polarizing society to an extent. People were changing their lives based on what happened. You didnt have to read the Gospels to see what was happening...

Dare i say, their would be some skeptics who would have to have investigated what was going on and logically If all what had happened was BS, then not only would this have been passed down verbally, but somewhere along the line, would have been documented to prevent furture generations from following this and in effect save future generations.

Yet, we see nothing. I personally find this very very strange considering how much what happened transformed sociey.

The question of who created God cannot be asked, simply because if you do so, it means that you are applying causality laws that we see and understand in our naturalistic realm ALSO apply to that outside it...You dont have a basis to make that assumption, therefore, the question cannot be asked....

And that whole "things were changing rapidly at that time" argument is bogus.  It's the same reason that nonsense like Scientology comes into being.  Hopeless people looking desperately for some answer to life's mysteries take the easy way out and assume it's just too complex, it has to have a creator.  I completely agree that Christianity had like a wildfire effect, it spread fast and quick and everywhere, but so what?  That doesn't mean it's true.  You're only looking at a tiny tiny fraction of time for human beings.  Give it another 2,000 years and it will have morphed into something else.  And that is because humans will always tweak and manipulate religion to suit them at that given time.

Christ I can't wait for artificial intelligence to just dominate this planet already.  I'd rather have SkyNet wipe us all out and replace wacky religions with cold, efficient, logical binary code.

Here is a question for non believers...

A central part of our Christian belief is the fall. Ie, mans rejection of God. Since this, humans and their gene code have been corrupted, ie, our gene code is not perfect, hence diseases etc etc.

Humans since have come out with all sorts of deformities since ...

Science has also made many cures to these diseases....

Hypothetically, if a part of the gene that was repsonsible for believing in God was found, and you (non believers) found that yours was corrupted (as any other gene code could), and science found a drug to cure this, resulting in you believing...would you take it?
