Does anyone else find this troubling and highly hypocritical? It is insane.
Trump is on this big bully childish rant on the media. Claiming that they are all liars etc. However, his very spokesperson sat up and flat out lied a half dozen times or more in an official press conference. And the worst part about it is that these are all easily verifiable lies. It is not an opinion they are flat out lies.
I think that we will see this approach for the next four years. Trump bullies everybody who says something he does not agree with and then publicly insults them and calls them liars and bullies them.
I think that he knows he can use this strategy because he knows that his supporters could care less.

mattbrot, it's no longer PC to call them lies. so i'll ask you to stop using that word for the foreseeable future. the new term is "alternative facts". think is people's feelings when you use hurtful words.

it is not spin when you hear the press conference and then also see numerous shows (including Fox news last night) point out places where they were lies.
As I said in my original post. It is not spin it is can be traced back to fact. Fact is fact.

let me put it another way. It would be analogous to me saying "Nature can you believe tat yesterday in NYC the high was 100 degrees"? And then you say "huh that does not sound right let me check with the weather census (or what ever place keeps those records".
And find that it was actually only a high of 45 degrees.
They are lies that can be so easily cross referenced and proven either true or false.

I saw that. She is the worst. A miserable person. The lies and spin that she puts on things is so painfully obvious and so unbearable.

ok so what were the lies and show how EASY they are proven to be lies. It's easy to just say he lied, but prove it.
dude. Feel free to do a little checking your self.
1) the grass covers have never been used at inaugurations before. = Proven lie
2) The DC metro ridership was well above obama's last two years. = Proven lie.
3) That the tweeted pictures were intentionally framed to make the crowd look smaller. = Can not actually prove it was a lie but a very strong stance for a comment that he can not prove.
4) First time that fencing and magnetometers were set further back. Proven lie as magnetometers were not even used on Friday (although I have no clue what they are anyway).
Those are just a few. Not hard to find this information.

It is not necessarily about what spicer said. It is the bigger picture of what is going on. He bullies his way around. He calls out people and attacks their ethical ability to do their jobs. If something is said that does not go in favor with him he immediately lashes our and call it lies and attacks the source. But then in his very own press conference Spicer flat out lied many many times.
And on top of that refused to take a single question. Classic bully move.
And Nature's post above is a perfect example of what I am talking about. He is trained to immediately disregard anything that goes against Trump and dismiss it as spin and lies. While not having a care in the world for what the actual administration says. So thanks for your post Nature it was a good teaching moment.
And lastly, I have a feeling that Trump does not care. His ego is so big that he do what ever and not think twice. And he knows that there is a segment of his supporters who could care less about whatever he says or does.

lets say for sake of a discussion, we go with what you understand is truth in this statement high is 100 degrees in new york. what you forget is editing, the high was around 45 i believe yesterday didnt look it up but reasonable, what if the statement originally stated new york was 100 degrees higher than nome alaska. then subtract the end of this and leave new york was 100 degrees and then state that was a lie.
until the whole statement is heard then it would be seen as a 'lie' same with the press conference, if you believe those 6 corporations and 272 new york execs are going to slant this to equal you clearly have never been in journalism.

I am sorry but I did not follow your example in the first paragraph.
Actually Spicer's press conference was aired and shown in full length. And yes I did watch it. And yes I did see the discussion after the press conference.
So I do not follow what your example is in the first paragraph. I think it is just worded awkwardly.
I do not follow the second paragraph because it is just a very bad argument.

IF you would have checked you privilege you would know this.
Huh? right about what? That Spicer stood up there and flat out lied and then refused to take any questions?
Look at ClubDirt's link above. On the sunday morning political talkshows she was interviewed and basically said that. What the heck are "alternative facts"???

then for the sake of fairness it had to be edited to fit a window of the paper. they had to chop a story to fit the parameters of a physical newspaper editors will always delete the end of a story as writers are trained to make the most important statements first.
keepan article to 800 words or less and fill a space tvis even more concise the statements must be furthur abrieviated to fit a 20 sec sound bite.so allow the reason itspublished or aired is the advertising space pays for most of the paper and that is what generates the income, finally demographics.
running a trump is good thing for politics just alienated there viewers and lost their share of the nelson ratings subsequently advertising for depends is non existing if the audience is 16-35, and vice versa pampoer commercials do not really get aired during sporting events...
so in our age of information take all with a grain of salt. and be entertained more than informed.

second statement is how Trump understood the press, as he revealed in his stump speeches. his wife called him out and said that is terrible thing to say he then knew how the msm press felt of him

that political discussion is what we usually referred to as out of context. or the media spin on the actual event. deception or lies has many faces, out of context to lead to a false opinion is but one face of this many sided crystal.

Spot on
Spicer's press conference has turned him into a laughing stock.
In some ways, Spicer reminded me of Baghdad' Bob who famously insisted to reporters that Iraqi Army had U.S forces on the run
