Interesting thread. Keep it up Gekko. All these over the hill haters are going to hate on you because they didn't get a chance to live out the dream. You are in a good spot to take the chance which is hard to find. Most 30 year olds in America have obstacles that hold them back from the situation you are in. You will think about it for the rest of your life if you pass on it. Stay excited and committed and you will make it work (whether or not you beat the books). Would love to follow and see a youtube channel. I'm sure many others would too; make some Google ads money out of it but keep it real.

i tried it for 6 mos. back in the 80's /// loved it for first few months then not so much after that/// but i didn't have a business to keep me busy betw. playing cards ...so i was pretty bored after a few months....i haven't been back more than a few times since late 80's....but since u say u will have a side business (and u generally WIN in MLB) it sure could work for u ....and you could always go back to Long Island if things don't work out for u in Vegas...you are young enuf to enjoy the life style a little more than i did at the time...sounds like you 're going so BOL and KILL the books!!

Funny how people talk like they know your situation. Their own past speaks clearly thru their negative comments. TITAN2 definitely has lost a ton in gambling. He act's like gambling makes or breaks me, which I clearly stated I do it for entertainment and I am in no way shape or form, going to Vegas to beat the books. Obviously, he is speaking out of his own experience (otherwise he would be a donkey for speaking about something he never went thru himself) and he has been crushed before. He's a noobie that's why. I have seen your type before TITAN2.
Why don't you write a book since you know everything about moving or not moving out to Las Vegas? I'm sure people are dying to hear more of your helpful insights.

When you have been successful at something over a large amount of time, you speak about how it CAN be done. Because YOU, yourself, are living proof. When you are FAILING, you tell other's they will FAIL because you, yourself, are living proof of that failure.
Please don't come on my thread to post immature "your going to get crushed, you will be broke" junk. I can buy a house cash if I wanted to right now, and I earned 75% of it from hard work with my bare hands as well as adding to my portfolio of stocks, bonds, sports wagering, poker. Betting a few sports games doesn't have any impact on my bottom line, the way I currently bet. If I go on a 10,000 win streak, that's not going to change my life or how I live. If I go on a -10,000 losing streak, it's not going to change my life or how I live.
This is a community to get honest insights and feedback. Warnings are welcomed but let's not all be Captain Obvious and say, be careful of losing. As gamblers, we all know the risk that comes along with this game. The difference between me and the rest of this site, is I honestly bet for entertainment purposes and to have some free dinners and vacations, while the rest of you are honestly betting week to week, broke, and behind.
Remember, if you ask my how to run a landscaping business, would I tell you how 95% of small landscaping businesses close within 3 years? Would I start hitting you with all the negative factors like insurance, workers comp, legalities, permits? No. Because I have ran a successful landscaping business for a few years now and I would tell you how EASILY you can do it as long as you are in the right mind frame and willing to work hard, get all your permits and licensing, etc. Don't be so easy to read guys, when you having negative stuff to say, it means your bottom line is just that, NEGATIVE!

I like the positive attitude bud. You'll do great out here, because you have a plan. The ups and downs of gambling aren't going to try you because you'll have a job to pay the utilities. Vegas is awesome place to live. Low cost of living, low taxes, cheap booze, lots of hot snatch, nice weather, legalized betting, lots of good local books too. Don't listen to the haters here like Titan, he has no clue. He thinks it's impossible to make it out here, it's easy if you have a plan, I've seen it a million times.
