So when a pool of water is formed after raining, its easier to believe that God created that pool with his intelligent design?...or to realize the water simply adapted to its new environment, that being the hole in the ground.
PGram, they were great thinkers but didn't have the luxury of knowing what we do now. And they are more philosophical in nature, where the emphasis is on expanding the mind and critical thinking as oppose to absolutes. Not to mention, half of those guys you listed also enjoyed young boys and couldn't resist their urges for them.

evolution is a 100% proven fact. don't start talking science with some of these folks. it upsets them. but much worse, it upsets their religion's business model and money and power is what religion is all about.
No offense, and I wouldn't dare debate religion with you bastards, but at one time it was a 100% proven fact that the earth was flat and that the earth was the center of the universe. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to be open minded about something you can't touch, only experience. Some truths need not be proven to be known.

And, perhaps you don't have the luxury of knowing what I know.... nah, you've never considered that have you?

why wouldn't you dare debate religion with us bastards? and when you say religion, do you just mean your religion or all of the religions?
but you make a good point, wendy. science builds upon itself and is a continuous learning process based on facts, experimentation, observation. if and when a fact is proven wrong or altered based on new information, science welcomes the opportunity to expand knowledge. it's an intellectual exercise. and scientists aren't afraid to say two things- we're wrong and we don't know. that's how you learn.
i don't know that anything i just said applies to religion, which i see as a story and most of all, an old and powerful business model. when you are selling a story that isn't based on facts and is intended to get people to buy in, the sellers aren't going to be quick to say we don't know or we're wrong.
business models are typically out to increase market share, increase membership and influence and make more money, which are inconsistent with the ideas of science and learning in their purest forms.

wendy, the fact of evolution in no way disproves the concept of God, depending on your version of God.
and when i say evolution is a 100% proven fact, of course i mean based on our collective knowledge at this point. science always leaves open the possibility that what is learned in the future may change our understanding today.
to that extent, it's a fact that is as good as it gets but facts are never perfect.

How about how the Bible and the story of Jesus is borrowed from past stories from Egypt and India and other pagan myths.
There is Krishna, India deity, who had there story written 1000 years before Christ. He was a carpenter, who was born of a virgin, and baptized in a river.
Or there is Mithra, from the Persians, who was born Dec. 25th, performed miracles, resurrected on the 3rd day and was known as the messiah, savior, and other names. This story was created 600 years before Christ.
Then last but not least is the sun God, Horus of the Egyptians. 1280 BC the Egyptian book of the Dead describes a God Horus, son of Osirus and born to a virgin, baptized in a river by Anup who was later beheaded. Like Jesus, Horus was tempted when alone in the desert, he healed the sick and the blind and cast out demons, walked on water, he raised Asar (translates to Lazarus) from the dead, had 12 disciples.... horus was also crucified, and after 3 days 2 women announced he had resurrected.
Just like all the other cultures who created stories of Gods to explain the unexplainable.... The Christian religion did hte same thing.

You can go back as far as you like, but at some point there has to be a higher power that created something. To me, that is obviously God, but i don't expect anyone here to side with my beliefs.
Every religion you find is based on faith and faith alone. As a christian, i cannot "prove" that my faith is anymore real than a buhddist, muslim, or anyone else can. However, i believe my faith is a more than reasonable one, and the God that i serve has proven to me many times over that my faith is true. Again, i don't expect anyone to side with me here, but if your looking for a truth to hang your faith on, you'll be looking forever. We, as humans will never be able to "prove" anything.

Why does God get the pass of not having a creator, if under your definition everything must have a creator?
Do you believe in the notion that something may not necessarily have a beginning or an end?
I would think that all things human have to have a beginning and an end.God, however is more than human. There will always be questions that we will never be able to answer.

People need to separate the difference between Church and Religion (Faith). To me Church is a business, or has evolved into an organization that's main priority is money and power.
We all sure for definite answers, but the only answer we know is that we can not define our existence, the who, what, where, why, when and how.

[Quote] Our brains grow until we are 30, for chimps and another apes, their

What if they modify just that gene of the ape, i wonder what would happen, they should try it out.

When Jesus ascened to Heaven, the apostiles were saying dont go,( paraphrazing ), Then Jesus told His disciples, He was leaving a Comforter with them, the Holy Spirit, and then he said, "FOR I HAVE a different folf to tend to"! Now, there are many explanations to this! The two main ones are, from the Mormons, saying he had to come to America andteach LEVI, a Mormon prophet who was supposed to write the Book of Levi! Then you have the second which is he had to descend to Hell and rescue ( if you will, all the Old Testement Christiands and prophets, or a third, there is another people not of this planet to take care of! I dont know what to think of that, and it is manoosha to me! But that would fit with Richard A's thoughts! Later Guys Great discussion! PG

Yes You are right, and God speaks of these people in the Bible! They are called False prophets! But, I listen to Charles Stanley, Chuck Swindoll, David Jerimiah, and these guys are real men of God! It just kills me there are so many of you that have not heard the TRUTH! Your all in my prayers, because I wish all of you would be open minded! Like I stated before , "It takes MORE faith to believe in this random happenstance than to believe in God!

Yeah it is hard to comprehend such ignorance. But of course it must be tough seeing what you believe in, the center of your faith put into the trash can. Then it is better to stay in oblivion.
I am not dismissing a supreme power , i am just saying the way we approach it now, with the bible and everything is one big fat lie.
ignorance? you are just picking a different faith based system. Scientism is as full of holes and lies and money influence as any religion. YOu just don't believe in a religion, so you look to science for reinforcement of your beliefs, or lack of.
there is no more answers or certainty/absolute-ness in Scientism then there is in Christianity,,,etc. The whole global warming scam should be evidence to any follower of science that numbers and fuzzy math can be used to paint any picture that the current political winds and money wish.
truth be known, as much as many would blow hot air about their dislike for corporatism, it thrives on the followers of scientism more so then those who pray to whichever particular god they happen to choose.

Very true...these programs and clips that Mikael are showing here prove nothing. It is obviously a slanted view from someone trying to prove a point supporting his agenda.
