You keep basing your argument on the fact that the bible is incorrect. It is a compilation of "stories" rewritten and translated, so yeah, a lot of the meaning is lost...

Are you saying science is never wrong?

I find it funny and ironic that the ones who attack religions as trying to force their views on society are the same ones trying to force their opinions on everyone else.  Both parties are extreme in their agenda.

Well,if there is a higher being(s),I godda think an Intelligent Designer created the Evolution process.Both theories provided validity.That's the only way I want to live to believe.The Bible has been in the hands of too many humans for too long...I read that book with grains of salt.

not once have i tried to force any of my beliefs on anyone.  i may ask questions and call the answers (such as they are) stupid, but i'm open to anything that makes any sort of sense.  a couple of questions i ask that never get any reasonable answers are: tell me about your God?  what makes Her andy more plausible than the hundreds of other gods?  what makes your religion any more plausible than any of the thousands of other religions that are contrary to yours?  

oakley, you are correct.   as we've said, evolution is 100% fact.  however, the fact of evolution does not negate the existence of a God.  many of the religious types don't get that point because they've been conditioned to shun the idea of evolution because a shallow understanding of that concept leads to a fear of it and anything that threatens the religon's business model must be discounted.

Try and make at least one positive contribution to the world, while you are alive.  You seem to have a very negative opinion of all around the world, try looking in the mirror and making peace with your wretched soul.

Hey Mikeal can your brilliant scientific brain at least give us some specific points from the documentary.  I prefer to shoot down blasphemy in point form. 

Dinosaur protiens have been recently found on fossils.  Scientists know it is impossible for the protiens to have been preserved for the alleged "80 million years"  There for the dinosausrs must have been fossilized during Noah's ark.  SWISH !

evolution is the current theory... does not mean it is right...

old testament is a far older theory... does not mean it is right...

but if I had to bet my life on which one is right, I would pick the theory that is based on the most current science... just like I would pick for medicine, transportation, communication and diet...

believing in creationism is like being Amish in your paradigm... it is not wrong, but it is based on a life style that is very old...

I am in no way religious, and cannot stand the religious right and the literal translations of the bible, or any religious book.  I agree with freedom of religion (or lack there of), where most Christians or religious people agree with freedom of THEIR religion.  I find it very odd that even the hardest core of Christians can believe a tribe in Africa (or anywhere) who have never even heard of Jesus Christ will go to hell because they are not Christians.

The question science cannot answer - Creation.  Where things initially appeared or how chemicals and elements became available is still something even scientists don't touch.  I do believe in a creator and I consider myself Agnostic.  I would like for science to prove creation or existence, but believe it will never happen.  I believe in science because that what I do for a living and how I prove things to myself.  That being said, MOST religious people (and people in general) take things on faith and do not think about how things work or what goes into making things.

I use to get bent out of shape thinking about religion (still do when dealing with right-wing religious zealots), but people have been trying to disprove religion (and yes you can disprove the literal translations all day) for a long, long time.  Religion makes most people feel good, it also makes some kill (but so does lack of virtue and values).  I've finally realized people are different and should be accepted as such.  Doesn't make you have to like them or befriend them, just let them do their thing as long as they are not physically harming you or others (which most don't), unless it's professing opinions on their kids which is a whole different discussion.

-okay I'm at the end and I'm not re-reading this whole post, if it doesn't make sense I'm sorry...

good post and i agree with most of it, except that science will never prove how we got here.  

obviously, that's just an opinion but when you think about how far our collective knowledge has come in just a few short years, if the religious crazies don't blow up the earth first, i think our knowledge will continue to progress to the point where we'll have a pretty good idea how it all came together.  for example, just a few short years ago, christians thought rainbows were the path to heaven and they didn't believe in opening up the human body for surgery or other treatment because it would desecrate the human form before it went to heaven which was an obviou deterrent to medical advances.  those ideas were prevalent just recently.  our learning curve is on the steep incline and will continue in my opinion.

 Michael, Man Evolution cant Explain? Your completely wrrong! And I am not just being contrary! If your serious about knowing the truth about evolution, READ , "Darwins Dilemma"! Did you know Darwin even went against his earlier written Evoolution Theories prior to his death! Off the top of my head I cant remember the period, but there is a gap, and it blows evolution out the water! Did you know? NOW THINK BOUT THIS! It takes MORE Faith, which is the basis of Christianity, to believe  in evolution thatn it does a creator! The random numbers of this precisely "evolving are so high its incomprehensible! Please read Darwins Dilemma, and yopu will see believers in Evolution showing that there is a huge GAAP that can not be explained therefore is discredited therefgore discrediting evolution!

Darwins Dilemma ! The Book at Amazon is cheap! As I stated this "gap", in this massive jump, or asummation, and Science is all factually based, something someone can touch, feel, look at, test, but Christianity is the faith in the unseen! From where they start to early recorded man this gap blows the theory! THese fossils of the different skulls and renderations of "probable" pictures of early man could have been a lot of inbred tribes that had those charactyeristics? a lot of proeblems with that darwin's dilemma movie.  number one, you always need check the source and apparently it was produced by some hardcore religious creationist folks.  that's a big credibility issue.  secondly, the movie's premise is based on the idea that this cambrain explosion of new animal life was relatively instantaneous.  objective scientists and paleontologists say that animal fossils existed before this carmbrain "explosion" and this "instantaneous explosion" of animl life took place over tens of millions of years.  not exactly instantaneous.  
the movei also ignores, or lies about, transitions between animals that are verified in fossils.  

and perhaps the biggest flaw in this thinking is that if the cambrian "explosion" did in fact discredit evolution, which it doesn't because it ignores facts and distorts others, that it would mean intelligent design is true.  that, again, is the opposite of logic.  

but to really understand the flaw of darwin's dilemma and see that it's really a religious creationism's infomercial and distortion, read what perhaps the only objective scientist used in the movie says about how his statemens were protrayed by the producer of darwin's dilemma:

so the whole attacking darwin and evolution is a smoke screen for the fact that creationism comes from a time of human sacrifice and idol worship,

Well my friend you need to watch https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1091617/  it is actually packed with very intellegent religious people, all who have Phd's doctorates, masters etc.  Many of them have lost thier jobs for even remotely suggestion the idea of intelligent design.  The scientific atheists are the bullies in all this, they are so close minded to the idea.  Also as many of you have stated they have no logical explanation for how life began in the first place.
