There's no way a dart gun is finding it's target and sticking moving car to moving car. When I was a younger man and looking back apparently a bit not all there I would always have 3/8 bolts around from work. A 1" - 2" 'er was just small enough to leave a ding or crack a window without shattering it. Looking back, that was completely uncalled for and luckily I wasn't doing it anymore by the time the freeway shootings really kicked off.

And most of the freeway shootings are targeted attacks anyway. Or innocent bystanders being hit during targeted attacks. Or mistaken identity. Not a ton of road rage.

Read an article today about the FEDS asking states to be careful with their attempts at humor using highway signs. A study in 2022 funded by the Governors Highway Safety Association & the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (who knew they even existed) found a "significant proportion" of drivers did not understand safety messages that included humor, wit or pop-culture references. WUT? WUT? These are the examples they cited.

In Massachusetts, there was a play on the Boston accent. The sign read "Changing lanes? Use Yah Blinkah." 

In Iowa, a sign read "Texting & Driving? Oh Cell No!"

Lastly, in New Jersey there was "Slow Down. "This Ain't Thunder Road."

Sad that a "significant proportion" of drivers have problems understanding these safety signs.

Today I watched a teenage girl driving a golf cart (which is very popular in SFLA; not sure about the rest of the country) baffled on how to mail an envelope in the mailbox. 

I watched as she looked on top, on the side & in the middle of the box & couldn't find the lever to open the box. She was quickly getting frustrated & so was my wife who got out of the car, asked her for the envelope & pulled open the lever to the mailbox. 

It was both funny & sad at the same time. 

I have to share this because I've watched it at least 5 times. It's a Lincoln Center tribute to Zeppelin. It's about 8 minutes long but it just gets better & better.

I've always enjoyed the wife of RFK JR.

Easy on the eyes & she survived Curb Your Enthusiasm as Larry David's wife. 

Today we had a high of 66 & a low of 55 degrees.

So this was the chance for the Latina weather girls to wear their knee high boots with short tight skirts. Usually, it's just the short skirts.

Just one of the positives of living in SFLA during the winter.

The thought that I have right now was about the movie Crazy Rich Asian, I watched it weeks ago and I'm obsessed!!!! From the moment the story opened with its lush depictions of Singapore, I was mesmerized. The towering skyscrapers, lush tropical greenery and opulent luxury just oozed from the screen. It really showed off Singapore's natural beauty and vibrant culture perfectly. All the glamorous affairs and high society events had me curious to experience that world for myself. Can you imagine attending a tycoon's wedding in a palace or riverside garden like in the movie? It all looked straight out of a fairy tale. I also loved learning more about Singaporean traditions, family dynamics and architecture. It was fascinating getting glimpses into the different ethnic enclaves like Little India and Chinatown. Desperate to visit all the iconic spots from the movies and I even research and read some blog about it like this one https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-singapore-statistics-2023-the-ultimate-guide-5549  Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Raffles Hotel - I need to go see where they shot those stunning locales.  Does anyone have an obsession with a movie because of the place setting?

I thought that a shillelagh was predominantly a club like the one used in Gangs of New York with DiCaprio & Daniel Day Lewis.

Tonight, I learned it's original purpose was to be a walking stick.

I guess a bloke found a very effective way to utilize it in another fashion. Usually to settle an argument.

BTW..Gangs of New York is definitely worth a watch.

Highlight & copy that YouTube URL, leaving it inside your mouse for a moment....

Then open a covers.com message box in the thread you wish.....

When you are ready to post the actual URL link, just look above your message box to the horizontal toolbox and tap on that icon on the right which looks like a chain-link.... a pop-up box then allows you to paste the URL on the top line BUT THEN YOU *MUST* ALSO TAP YOUR CURSOR ARROW ON ANY OF THE LINES BENEATH IT!! ....that 2nd tap is the key that many people don't know....and presto, here it is:

In SFLA we're about 2 weeks away from Spring Break & it's a time when plenty of businesses learn if they will stay open for another year or not. It's their Super Bowl. Be good to the small local folks.

First, leave your guns home. If you really need one, you can buy one the streets of Miami Beach or any beach for that matter.

If you are driving, the FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) will be increasing their "random" stops on out of state plates. They didn't particpate in co-ordinated security last year but since 70 guns were confiscated last year in a 2 week period, law enforcement wants to find guns before they come into the state. 

On a similar note, be careful purchasing any "remedies" for your head. 3 West Point cadets crapped out on fentanyl laced coke last year.

Deerfield, Pompano, Lauderdale & Hollywood beaches are highly recommended & have everything you want. Restaurants, clubs, fishing, clean bathrooms (until slobs fuck that up) casinos & good hotels. And the casinos have entertainment every night & most of it is free. Gulfstream Park is also a great place to spend the afternoon. Let me know if you need a winner.

Miami is a shit show, so you may want to spend a night or two there. Drinks are outrageous and & so are the customers. Be aware of the locals. Most trouble starts with them. Tourists don't come down here to get in trouble/arrested. You'll be able to pick them out. Believe me, you will.

Police officers will be armed with Narcan for emergency situations & that's good to know if it's needed. It wasn't readily available last year.

Also know that if the shit hits the fan, cities will announce a curfew to get off the streets. Last year, Miami Beach set a 8 PM curfew when people couldn't behave.

You can't pitch tents on the beach to sleep. You can't drink alcohol on the beach or walk around the streets with open containers of alcohol. You can't play excessively loud music on the beach. Police will decide what is excwessive. If you are asked/told to lower the music, lower the music. If you are told to pour out your beer, pour out your beer. Our jails are nasty & you don't want to spend a night in there for being an asshole.

In the 92 Olympics, Coach Chuck Daly never called a timeout during the entire Olympics while coacing the Dream Team.
