Also , Armand Van Helden,Sandy Rivera,Miguel Migs and Junior Jack, amongst others that I can't think off right now.

I'm not knocking it....not what I like but can still appreciate good music for what it is ya know

Wasnt trying to knock you at all Powerade, I respect you, not trying to call you out

I just feel that a lot of music acts these days that consist of dudes spinning on turntables or mixing on cpus or whatever are very musically talented, and just b/c they don't play instruments or have lyrics, doesn't mean that its not legit music.

Appropros Crystal Method, I love those guys. Second to last concert I went to was seeing them at RamsHead in Baltimore last August. Great show.

Last show I went to was DeadMau5 at the 9:30 club this past December which was amazing

But again Powerade, not trying to knock you by any means, but I feel your statement about how any DJ that gets any respect or has done anything has done so b/c of contacts or whatever is very false. The best DJs in the world are true artists and make sick music. But b/c they get no mainstream love whatsoever people who aren't really into beats might not know as much about them as they would for other music genres like rap, rock, etc.

Listen to the breakdown around 5:00 onwards. So amazing....

Also if you don't like it, please keep in mind that this is one of hundreds of good DJs out there, and there's TONS of different styles...Deep House, Tech House, Minimalim, Trance, etc......all diff takes on the same genre.

Thanks so much guys. I realized I forgot some names and definitely admit I am not into this music like many posters. I am a doctor who likes trance music. I started this thread to get some input. Thanks so much

I will preface this with the fact that I started to go to raves/parties/clubs in early 1993 right when things were really starting to go off.

I used to live in York, PA - I would go to Baltimore to go to Fever on Thursdays every so often - one of the most amazing clubs back in the day. I would go to parties thrown by Ultraworld for years and by other promoters. I often would go to Buzz another major club on Fridays in Washington DC. Buzz would have some of the most amazing lineups.

I prob hit most of the big Baltmore/DC and some Philly events back in the day from 1993 to about 1999.

Those were the golden years of the rave scene - I was 23 in 1993 and the music and the scene were amazing then.

I got to see/listen to so many amazing dj's and live acts over the years. I'm a little biased with 2 of my favorite dj's since they are Baltimore guys but they were and are still worldwide talents.

1. Richie Hawtin / Plastikman - a true god of techno - I have seen him several times and he is unreal.

2. Charles Feelgood - one of all time fave djs - have seen him countless times at clubs and parties - amazing dj - He's a premier house dj.

3. Scott Henry - another Baltimore guy - was one of the most popular East Coast dj's of all time - used to close out all the big Ultraworld parties - he would play house / breaks / trance - just everything - but with tons of energy.

4. Rabbit in the Moon - live - If you have never seen these guys live - you need to - unbelievable show with unbelievable music.

5. Dj Dan - house dj who is truly a god - from the West Coast - amazing.

so many more I can't rem. I used to do a little djing myself - nothing anywhere near to the levels of these guys - got to play a few small parties and some small clubs back in the day.

Now djing is just a hobby - I buy music here and there for myself. I still listen to plenty of " electronic music " and personally you dont have to be f-d up to enjoy it.
