Gigi D'Agostino is an insult to dj-ing. I wouldn't even put him in my top 100. Deadmau5 would definitely be up there along with AVB and Tiesto. I'm surprised you don't have AVB even near your top 5? I suppose it all depends on what type of dance music you like. Sander Van Doorn has to be the best I've ever heard live. He came to gig at a nightclub in my town and played a 2 hour set. I've heard other live acts including Deadmau5, John O'Callaghan (great Irish DJ), Tiesto, Marco V, SVD among others but if I had to put a top 5 on best DJ's around at the present time, taking everything into account, it would have to be:

1. Armin Van Burren
2. Deadmau5
3. Tiesto
4. David Guetta
5. Sander Van Doorn

  what does a DJ really do...play the music and yell and scream while the rapper gives him props......or are you guys ravers?

I can't imagine any DJ doing anything of note without having contacts or money to put them there

Sounds like rave music to me powerade... I'd like techno - if I was at a rave!  Can't imagine sitting in my room listening to 'woo-WEE-pish-WEE-woo-WEE-pish-WEE-woo-WEE-pish-WEE"

Progressive house w/o drugs is only good after 5+ years of doing it with drugs....so that you can trance yourself back into the K-hole/Ectasy pumping former self.

Nice guru Never tried either one... actually I just remembered that I did try ketamine, but I don't think it was much of it.  Wouldn't go that route again, but I could try ecstacy.

dumb statement and a half

Plenty of DJs/Eletronic music acts are extremely talented musicians.  Just b/c its not your cup of tea you shouldn't knock the entire genre.
