Tell me about it, JWK. Wages aren't keeping up with the cost of living. The amounts may be different depending on where you live, but the story is the same.
Whatever you guys are talking about.....you do realize there was a bobcat sighting

I recented moved back with my parents so I have it made.
- I throw them around 500 a month for rent. I don't really HAVE to give them anything, but I throw them $1,000 here, $1,000 there to the tune of 5-6k a year. I also help out with little things like the MLB package, the NFL package, and occasionally buy groceries and shit. I also take care of my mooch little btrother with little shit, so when his fantasy baseball fee is due, I usually throw out the $200(where my parents would normally be stuck). So grand average is about 8k a year staying at home so let's say $700 A MONTH for room and board.
- Cell phone 79 a month.
- Car 300 a month.
- Insurance 100 a month.
- Gas and tolls 400 a month.
Thats really it. About $1,600 a month for absolute necessities. Anything else I spend is for myself and I have a handful of hobbies I burn money on. Books, video games, dvds, etc. I also do stuff with my gf and her daughter. Two vacations per year. I'm an on again, off again smoker so cigs occasionally. Xmas time I have a big family, so thats usually 4-5K a year on gifts(or cash).
I make 60k a year at my job. I also bring in 10k a year or so in different gambling ventures. I put $250 a month out my paycheck directly into my credit union and transfer that into my savings so I save $12-13K a year. Whatever is left goes to those necessities and my "hobbies" whether it is a couple weeks in Mrytle Beach or going out to eat on the weekend, or buying a shitload of video games and dvds.
Give me my own apartment and I cut back slightly on the fun stuff and trim my savings a year a bit.
Give me my own home(mortgage) and my savings almost go bye bye, bluray sales become Netflix rents, new hardcover books become library rentals, dinner goes from the Lobster Shanty and Cheesecake Factory to Red Lobster and Chilis, cable goes from $250 a month to the basic package, live paycheck to paycheck, double or triple my MLB and NFL bankrolls(go back to $250 a game rather than the $100 or $125 a game I've lowered to the last couple years) to give myself a few more bucks.
I'm done rambling.

Kids are absolutely the best thing about life and living....wouldn't trade my life for a single life ever...even if I could have vanzak's yacht and supermodel harem.
//meant this but agree with D-Town as well
