im thinking about getting a dog... maybe a boxer or a french bulldog.
Boxers are nice dogs but I've never known one that won't run away the moment the leash comes off or door is left open. Too hyper imo.

To the OP, I'd stay away from boxers. Very high energy and the tend to die young.

I had a Husky for 15 years, loved that dog. A lot of hair though. Another dog, if left off the leash she is gone. Always came back though. Very gentle with the kids. The only person my dog ever bite was my mom. The dog grabbed a chicken breast right off the table and my crazy mom thought she should try and take it back from her. Not a good idea. From that day on, my mom thought my dog was mean. The dog thought my mom was nuts. I had to agree with the dog.
