Had a Dalmation once myself. Loved the dog but damn he was high maintenance. Very, very hyper. Smart as hell but it was a perfect storm of him being too much dog and me not being old or mature enough to own him. I could not keep him in the yard. Had a normal chain link fence and he would dig out. So, I staked down 4x4's down at the bottom of the fence (we lived in the country). He would then jump onto the rock wall, walk across, and jump off. He would be 2 miles away when I would find him. I started putting square hay bales on the rock fence and the horses would take them down. So I went with straw bales and that worked great............for a week. The dog started CLIMBING the chain link then. He finally got hit by a vehicle after escaping. Funny thing about him was, he lived outside and had a badass doghouse that I had made for him in the backyard right below our 2nd floor bedroom window. He also had our Aus. Shephard/blue heeler pup out there with him that happened to be female. On some nights, we would wake up to coyotes howling very close in the pastures because they were coming for the pup. He would take about 5 minutes of this and then we could hear him rumble around in his house, just stick his head out, and give the deepest sounding "WOOF." All we would here after that was coyotes yipping on the run and him fumbling around to get comfortable with the pup in the house. I miss the hell out of that dog but also realize his untimely death was my fault for not being able to give him the attention he needed.

i know he knows what i'm saying because we go over this shit daily (he turned 1 two weeks ago)
