Why are so many people "afraid" of Trump?

The odds are back up at the big books, these are from bookmaker 6/29/16:

1) US President: Republicans +315 Democrats -410

2) Trump +325 Clinton -405

3) Florida Electoral College: Republicans +275 Democrats -365

4) Ohio: Republicans +208 Democrats -265

So, there you have it.....Brexit didn't swing the odds much at all. I tell you guys, there is some value there....but the odds may get longer if the GOP convention is a cluster.

This isn't a bad entry point if you are a Trump backer.....Hillary looks to be peaking a bit. For the record, I like Trump at +325 as well as +400 (already locked), and Trump in Florida at +275.

Not sure on Ohio....I think that Trump is strongly considering Kasich as Vice in an attempt to carry the state....not sure I would do that. Tough call there, no feel at all.

honestly,its mind blowing and baffling to me how many words,hours and efforts you all waste in your lives discussing politics and the circus/punch'n'judy show they put out there for you.......in the end it makes NO DIFFERENCE who is elected,why the feck wud you even get caught up in the disparate characters/personalities of the protagonists every 4 years??

surely,surely,surely youve noticed that politicians(OR non-politicians if theyre elected) do NOT act of their own volition and, even if they tried to,the gigantic,square,concrete cogs of the political system/machine wud stymie them from ever getting anything transformative done......one man cant do shiiiit!!!...or more pertinently wont be allowed to.......remember when j.f.k tried to rock the boat??....hmmm,watever happened to him??

as we all know by now,those elected answer to sumbody else,NOT the voters and NOT to their own thoughts,ideas and whims.......but keep on squabbling,bickering,making emotive pleas...its exactly the type of thing you are conditioned to do,it keeps you busy instead of worrying about important things.

watever needs to be done politically WILL be done,no matter wat punching bag is put up to front it.....trump shud hold no fears for anyone watsoever...if he gets in it will only be as a vehicle to get sumthing done that he will be the easiest fall-guy for.

and really,wats to be afraid of??..this is a country that has had george w. bush in charge for 8 frickin years!!!!......ya cud put a rock,a plant or a goldfish in the big chair in the oval office and it wudnt make an iota of difference.....banks,corporates,big bizness will just keep on running shiit.

The problem with the idea that "nothing matters" and that the elite run everything is that it is a defeatist attitude. Sort of goes hand in hand with the rationale "my fate is sealed, so why should I care?".

If you want to live that way, then fine.....nothing wrong with it, it just isn't for me.

The wild card could the 3rd party candidate. Libertarian Gary Johnson could well help the Trump ticket, and steal some votes from the Hillary camp.

okay,so long as you view it as entertainment,which is wat it really is,or a betting opportunity or social comment then thats fine.....but to actually take it seriously and debate the personality traits of the individuals involved like it means shiit in terms of the fate of the country or political movements is beyond absurd....it really is all a puppet show,the fact that NOTHING major ever changes for the good of the people all the way down thru history shud illustrate that to you.....every time the next schmo comes in with his inspirational clap-trap and slogans(how did that "hope and change" taste,by the way??),and a few years later they leave having served the elites ONCE MORE.......It just confounds me how anyone gets caught up in the cult of personality.....i cant imagine anyone argues this passionately and emotionally about their favourite characters on the t.v soap opera??

in any case,"wat matters" is entirely subjective so i cant tell you one thing is more important than another.

as far as our "fate being sealed",im not morose nor glum about it,its just accepted once you understand sum of the basic workings of the hierarchal structure of the world in which we live............but youre dead right,youre free to spend time however you choose but just giving a perspective on it that may light a bulb above sum folks heads.......there really is nothing more futile than debating politics.

In the end it does make a difference, because the President is the face of America. Please note that in no way, shape, or form am I a Hillary supporter, but at least we know she's not going to go off on a half-cocked, semi-racist, and uneducated tirade against some other country and create an international incident.

I want everyone to really think about a world with President Trump, I mean really think about it. Think about him meeting with foreign dignitaries to discuss policies. Him showing up all orange and weird hair, blathering on, talking loud, and worst of all his response to anything would be "We'll get it done, don't worry about it".

Think about what he has said already about Muslims, Hispanics, women, etc., etc., and he hasn't even been elected yet! You think he will tone down once he becomes President?!?!

His trade policy speech gets ripped by the Chamber of Commerce in real time. When responding to their counterpoints, he goes to the "they are controlled by special interests" card. Rather than point out the flaws in their counterpoints (which he can't do), he resorts to the same comment he has for anyone that picks him apart. He literally cannot come up with a speech that doesn't get absolutely eviserated right from the get go. All you have to do is look at Britain if you want to see what happens when a crazy haired bozo gets into office.
Additionally, he hasn't converted the personal loans to his campaign to donations. I'd have to think he lied when he said he would forgive the loans.

So, people are afraid of Trump because he might actually say what he is thinking, and not focus group every third sentence? Do I have that correct?

To be honest, I think his rhetoric is refreshing and entertaining. It beats the helllll out of Hillary's nails across a chalkboard screeching....... you can just tell that she is absolutely horrible company, and a worse date. Ughhh......

And that is why Hillary will struggle in a debate type of situation with Trump....whether he really is or not, Trump is the anti politician...right or wrong, he makes career politicians look like fake, contrived memes of real people.

Why the need to have your president "look" presidential? Obama made a career out of "looking" smart and speaking "eloquently".....and look at the result.

Supporting Trump doesn't necessarily mean that someone is stupid....voting to leave the EU doesn't make a person simple......supporting either cause is a result of a person being fed up with the status quo.

Remember "Hope and Change"? Obama got elected because people were sick of Bush and the right. Well, now the pendulum is swinging back from the far left.....and of course it is the result of "stupid", uneducated peasants.

Politics is changing, and honestly, the sooner the better. It can only get better from here.
