I read the Detroit News, and don't participate in Covers forums using whims as a commentary format. Yours is strictly 'opinionated' by which I respect, however, your commentary is mis-leading to say the least, being their is one thing...participating is another, are you by chance Muslim?
If I were a Muslim, I wouldn't be gambling nor participating in a sports gambling forum would I? No I am not a Muslim. Nor Christian, nor any other religion. I'm a typical, average white guy that happens to not immediately believe anyone that tells me the sky is falling just because they heard/read it second hand.
And I would say my "opinionated" post has a lot more validity than yours just because you happen to read the Detroit News. Have you ever watched Al Jazeera? If you have, it doesn't necessarily make you an expert on what happens on a daily basis in Middle Eastern countries does it?
I grew up in Metro Detroit. I've spent roughly 18 years of my life living in Metro Detroit. I go back about once a year. Have friends and family all over Metro Detroit.
I've been to Dearborn numerous times. I frequented an Irish pub called "Bailey's" more than I probably should have. I've had relatives work for Ford in Dearborn. I have friends that have graduated from U of M Dearborn (Did the Detroit News tell you that U of M has a satellite campus in Dearborn?), I've been to West Warren avenue several times...even at night. I have friends who are Muslim that live in Dearborn. I have friends who are JEWISH that have lived in Dearborn!!!(Not many but it has happened).
But hey, you read the Detroit News a few times right? I'm sure you know way more about what happens there than I would. Tell me about your experiences in Dearborn and Metro Detroit again.

And feel free to link me where you got that 65,000 number and then feel free to put in context of the percentage of the overall population.
Maybe you can stop deflecting and actually address something that I said.

You don't hear many Christians condemning their radical side either. Why is that? Of course if they're asked, they'll say "oh, I don't agree with that"
Where the heck have you been. I have been ripping radical Christians like Wright, Jackson and Sharpton for years. The 3 Stooges of Chrisianity.
Awesome! Detox.....but, but, but.....

Because living in "metro" Detroit definitely makes you an expert on muslims and Dearborn. Heck you're not even an expert on gambling, the Lions, or the Tigers. And clearly not muslims gamble, drink, cheat on their wives, or commit acts of terror. Omfg

I would say it makes me more informed on what happens there than someone that solely reads a newspaper and has minimal experience there.
If someone provided false info on living in South Bay in their parents basement or guest house I'm sure you would refute it since you're an expert on it.
Espladouche in his parents basement

What exactly are you calling radical? And I'm pretty sure any Christian group blowing up a building will get condemned by every Christian I know. Then again I can't think of the last time a head was cut off or a bomb went off in the name of Jesus.
The murder of Dr George Tiller. Was it condemned by every Christian you know?
Tiller....SHOT in 2009. And yes every Christian I know would not condone. (Insert stupid popcorn eating figure)

Just like you to site one instance. It's not the norm. Islamic terrorists are on the warpath all over the world, if given the chance they'll cut your liberal head off. One bent Dr. gets off'd and what are we supposed to do protest?

And no I wouldn't vote for a Muslim for POTUS... I've seen enough over the last 30 years not to put my trust in them, and I'm not apologizing for the position.

Hell no, I wouldn’t vote for a Muslim. The thing is people don’t know what the word Muslim means. You should have asked if people would vote for a person who worships a man who molested infants, had sex with prepubescent little girls, and cut the heads off 6,000 people.

It's not the fact that he was killed by a Christian, it's the fact that most Christians didn't condemn the murder. When Fox covered the murder they referred to the victim as Baby Killer Tiller.
The killing of Dr Tiller was an act of terrorism. Not only was it not condemned by the religious right but the religious right believed the act of terrorism was justified.

Oh, really… National Right to Life Committee released this statement on May 31, 2009:
"National Right to Life extends its sympathies to Dr. Tiller's family over this loss of life. Further, the National Right to Life Committee unequivocally condemns any such acts of violence regardless of motivation. The pro-life movement works to protect the right to life and increase respect for human life. The unlawful use of violence is directly contrary to that goal."
The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) is the oldest and the largest national pro-life organization in the United States with affiliates in all 50 states and over 3,000 local chapters nationwide.

"We strongly condemn this brutal and cowardly attack and reiterate our repudiation of any such assault on freedom of speech, even speech that mocks faiths and religious figures. The proper response to such attacks on the freedoms we hold dear is not to vilify any faith, but instead to marginalize extremists of all backgrounds who seek to stifle freedom and to create or widen societal divisions.
"We offer sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed or injured in this attack. We also call for the swift apprehension of the perpetrators, who should be punished to the full extent of the law." [Council on American-Islamic Relations, 1/7/15]

What a moron. No. You are the one who opened your ignorant mouth by saying the murder of Dr. Tiller wasn't condemned by right wingers. I proved it was condemned by the largest right-wing committee in the country. That was the only point I was trying to make.

“We’re Americans so we don’t want to single out people, but when you look at that list just since 9/11, then we had the Madrid bombings in ’04, London in ’05, Mumbai, the Kenyan mall, Benghazi, which was one of 20 cities that erupted when that movie Innocence of Muslimswas on the Internet, ISIS, Boko Haram who killed an entire village this week, Pakistan last year killing all those kids at the school, Canada parliament, Australia.” “What we’ve said all along, and have been called bigots for it, is when there’s this many bad apples, there’s something wrong with the orchard.”
Sean Hannity ? Bill O' Reilly? Ann Coulter? NO...

This latest sordid mess to arise from the G.O.P. nomination contest touches on bedrock American values, constitutional principles and American history. It reflects a pernicious habit among the leaders of the Republican Party to play with fire by pandering to an angry, disaffected and heavily white base by demonizing selected minorities. Muslims are just the current target.
Leave aside for a moment the unintentionally funny spectacle of a member of the current Republican Party declaring that religion should be kept out of public life, and that Mr. Carson, as an African-American, is a member of a much belittled minority. The freedom of religion embedded in the First Amendment rules out the very idea of a religious test for public office, as John F. Kennedy so eloquently argued and then proved by becoming the first Catholic president.

Does Thomas Jefferson have a copy of the Koran in the library of congress?
Did John Adams write that Mohammad was a sober inquirer after truth?
The republicans are pandering to the uneducated right with an undercurrent of anti Muslim bigotry. It's pretty sad. It goes against everything that the United States should stand for.
