He speared Brock not once but twice! He came out looking strong regardless of what the Wyatt family did which was more about squashing Brock.I will say this opens the door for all 4 Wyatts to gang up on Brock and eliminate him. That is believable.

Did you hear the crowd when RR told Jericho he won the last rumble. NO REACTION. The wwe pays attention to the reactions folks and they've been testing an RR possible win for weeks now. 

They have paid network subscribers to cater to and if he wins even in a great rumble, fans will be pist...the whole lot of them.

It is insane to even suggest RR will win here.

He's on the cover of the Royal Rumble poster holding up the belt. It's 2016! You think they'd be that obvious!?!?!

The reason why last year was such a debacle was because EVERYONE wanted Daniel Bryan and then a year after he wasn't even put into the match, he's put into this match. And the moment he was eliminated, the crowd was completely dead. Everyone hates Reigns being pushed down their throats because they wanted DB so badly. Now the crowd seems fully being Reigns (even in feuds with Triple H) so I can't see the crowd fully turning on him like in the past because, love it or hate it, he's gotten so much better on the mic and the crowd seems ok with it. They didn't even have a problem with him spearing Lesnar.

The worst thing WWE can possibly do right now is clear Daniel Bryan, put him in the Rumble, and have him lose. I think that's the only way to have the crowd turn on Reigns.

There is simply no way RR will win after last year's debacle.

If Bryan is cleared and in the Rumble, he's winning. Period. They don't put him in that spot and have him lose again because the crowd WILL turn on Roman.

How about a Bryan win resulting in headlining matches at WM of Bryan/Lesnar for the title and HHH/Reigns grudge match/gimmick match?

@sparky - you're point about the terrible booking is well taken right down to the awful Giant Kane eliminations (and even screwing up Curtis Axel's/Rusev's elimination).

BUT that doesn't erase the memory of the crowd heat from the minds of the WWE executive heads and the crowd itself.

We must be watching different Raws because these crowds are dead when RR comes out. There's some nice little cheering here and there but it's not more than even the New Day gets and it's definitely less than Mizdow got not to long ago!!! Imagine that, the undisputed champ getting smaller pops than Mizdow.

Even 2 weeks ago, Stephanie tried to say the crowd was cheering "Roman Roman" and they were doing nothing of the sort!

All this leads to a title change. Who it is? I don't know nor do I care when it comes to my money and RR losing while beefing up all my progressive parlays.

I have one even better.

Sting winning the title and sting vs. Rock headlining WM. Now that's a draw! Even with Sting's age! Imagine the hype and build up for that one.

I guess we are watching different shows because I thought the crowd was behind Reigns in all the segments between him and Stephanie and him and Vince.

Yea, that botched chant for "Roman" was bad but the reactions he gets for fighting the Authority has been great. That segment where Vince was arrested was in Brooklyn (prime territory for the "smart crowd") and they loved Reigns. If that happened during last year's push of him, they would have been on Vince's side.

How do you gents wager on something that has been predetermined?  

Do you fellas bet big on it, or small wagers just for sh!ts and giggles?

In my degenerate gambling heyday, I'd bet on anything from NCAAW basketball to Darts.  I just couldn't bet on something where the outcome is set already.

Again, I'm not putting it down, I'm just curious.

I can assure you I have been watching Raw with open eyes and keen ears and the cheers for Roman are disappointing at best.

Vince getting arrested will get pops in its own right and really anything happening to Vince, be it from Roman or from the very bottom at Adam Rose, crowds are going to pop if Vince is playing the corporate heel and is about to get screwed. Crowds get quite nostalgic when Stone Cold era shenenigans come into play with Vince.

And last night, I watched the entire show to measure the volume of RR's pops and they were underwhelming (much like the heat was for Sheamus and we all saw how fast that title came off him).

Now is this a full proof method to cap RR's rumble result? No. It's just an additional layer  beyond the fact that I believe the WWE has modernized their booking enough with HHH in charge that they will not force feed us a RR yet AGAIN headlining at Mania and give him consecutive Rumble victories. 

Now it's not rocket science. I should be more right than wrong at -350 but I'd be shocked as hell if you or Kap but a cent on the other side.

@Slob - it's just like wagering on the Oscars. You have to get inside the mind of the Academy/Writers.

For example, Dicaprio in the Revenant is a virtual guarantee to win an Oscar. He is long starved of one and the makers of the movie (and or PR team) essentially petitioned the Academy for his victory. Plus he did an outstanding job!

Will they comply? Almost certainly, in no small part due to the fact that there aren't these amazing stand-out movies/leading actors to compete with him.

Now these bets are only good in parlays (because their betting limits are capped) because the big favorites usually come in and you can have a multiplier effect on your undetermined bet along with something predetermined. And it doesn't get any sweeter than making Vegas pay the juice +25% +50% or more depending on the outcome.

Lol. After all my Rex Ryan-esque talk, I could have had better odds

(Oh and Slob, this is another layer to predetermined bets. If the odds drop wildly on the other side 99% of the time that outcome will happen. Of course at -1200 you can't bet it even in a parlay for any money but you won't even have to watch the PPV for the outcome. Although Brock over Taker and HHH over Sting are two examples of the WWE changing the booking at the last minute and having the heavy dog come in).

No way they come close to that, correct? Why am I not parlaying this with a number of other things?

They wouldn't let Reigns win two in a row, win the Title, AND beat Mysterio's record all in one Rumble,  would they?

Since Reigns is the first entrant, I think they absolutely could and would (if you are on RR winning it!). I mean, he'd be right in the high 50's! What's a few more minutes to give him the Triple Crown!

Brock Lesnar is going to win. It’s the boring WWE way. It’s safe and predictable.

If I was in charge, I’d have Dean Ambrose stab Roman Reigns in the back. I’d make Brock Lesnar come out as number 29 and Dean Ambrose as number 30. Reigns and Ambrose would fist pump in the ring and join up to double team the beast Brock Lesnar. 

Reigns and Ambrose would get Lesnar on top of the ropes and have him holding on for dear life. As it appears Lesnar is about to be eliminated, Ambrose throws Reigns over the top rope with Lesnar to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

The Field wins over Reigns down to -195. LOL. If it gets to -150, I'm officially going to start soiling myself.

@alex - It doesn't look like Lesnar will take it because of that feud he had with the Wyatt's on Monday. But if he does, I'll be more than happy. Anyone but RR.

They now have it broken down to RR winners where they must participate in the rumble to have action.

Triple H is -135 for that feature and +130 for an "action" wager.

Reigns +200/-280 Field

Lesnar +310/-430
Bray +350/-530

More props came up as well.

Reigns(-280)  v Lesnar (+205) in total opponents eliminated.

10+ Superstars in the ring at the same time -210/+160

Samy Zayn one of the participants -135

I feel like this has a similar feel to the 1999 Rumble when Vince had the bounty for Austin and ended up eliminating him himself. I wonder if Reigns will lose by being taken out but never eliminated or something like that.

And for the record...I'm not going to bet on HHH or Reigns because I have 2 theories and I'm sure one will hit so if I do anything, it would include a "Field" bet over Lesnar but there's not much value at -430. Maybe I'll have to ask Shango which Australian Open plays he likes . I just think it's crazy to think Reigns can't win this. He finished the last 2 weeks laid out and Kapono's contrarian view makes enough sense to have it be the outcome. Fast Lane is supposedly being a big PPV and not just a throw away PPV leading into WM so I can't imagine Triple H being the champ going into that.

Whatever the case...I can't wait to watch this. So many things should happens and I'd love to see if AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn and any other surprises that may occur actually happen.

I'm really surprised at how you think RR can win this after everything written here and being that you actually know all I am about to say.

I respect kap, but what appears on its face to be a reasonable booking option doesn't trump Royal Rumble booking history to make it plausible that RR could win this, at least in terms of avoiding a -280 bet.

Again, the last Rumble was a disaster in terms of booking and, was possibly the worst face heat in the history of the WWE. That was all on RR. That means something to the higher ups. And whether you like to believe it or not, those boos had more to do with RR being forced down the throats of fans as he was leaked to be the winner before the Rumble and everyone feared it would happen.

And I didn't mention this: the rumble before that was a disaster as well with even more face heat for Batista. Another booking disaster and another leak Batista would win because they wanted the belt on him to market him with the Marvel movie. It got so bad the WWE decided not to give him the belt at mania out of unadulterated FEAR there would be an even bigger revolt.

It is also important to note that Reigns was the last man eliminated in that Rumble, and in that Rumble, ironically, the crowd was squarely on his side.

So the WWe f'd up 2014 when they could have put Reigns over and didn't but made him the runner up; F'd up 2015 when they put Reigns over and he was no longer a darling coupled with awful booking; and now I'm 2016 they are going to put over Reigns again and risk a third straight Fan revolt?

Fool me once...

While the WWE can do incredibly stupid things (Katie Vick) it would blow my mind if they force Reigns on us yet again.

I have scoured message boards and Twitter and the consensus is the same: "Anyone BUT Reigns."

Oh and Reigns is currently the champ, won the last rumble, and will be #1 in this Rumble and may break Mysterio's record because of it (never mind that winning at #1 is historic in its own right). How much are you going to give this guy? He's not the rock or hogan or stone cold or cena. Does he deserve even more push?? Again, in the face of fan revolt?

Now pushing a -280 favorite is nothing special but I certainly don't fear the bet as it is in every single one of my other bets parlayed throughout the week.

I just can't see the writers or Vince or HHH giving this guy yet another Rumble win just to advance a HHH/RR main. There will be a small but vocal section of the PPV that will be booing away as RR gets to be one of the Final two or three (and if he is not, I'd be floored). Why even allow them to be vocal?

Cliff notes: from a booking perspective how do you risk disaster with the same guy you f'd up two years in a row with in the second biggest PPV of the year? And that is all this is about...how do you book it as a writer?

The only sensible way a writer could put him over is to say he's the next rock or cena (which he isn't remotely close to) and they need him as a savior. But ratings are down, the stock is down and fans are not embracing this guy. And you always have DB and Seth coming back. And Lesnar on a limited basis of course.

Like I said...I'm not betting on it because I can see both options happening but I just feel like RR winning isn't as out of the question as you're saying it is. There's no need to go back and forth on this because we're essentially repeating ourselves now but IMO, I feel like the "smart crowd" wants 3 options...Lesnar (which we agree won't happen), Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan (who isn't cleared). Owens is one of the best heels WWE has right now but they aren't going to put him in the title picture.

Maybe the best bet is Daniel Bryan WON'T participate at -260 because NOBODY wins if WWE doesn't put DB over because THAT is the reason fans revolted last year because Reigns was being pushed down our throats when everyone wanted DB who was capable of main eventing WM. I really think Reigns has evolved since then and has a bigger following and there's no other realistic option (other than Triple H).

I don't think WWE can clear DB until AFTER WM to save face because the crowd LOVES the fact that they actually got him into the Main Event at WM and got him the title because of hijacking the shows and they know they'll just do it again if he's cleared.

They also have matchups of "who gets eliminated first" with too many options to list.

Another match came out for the preshow.

Fatal 4-way Tag Team Match
Dudley Boys -120/Field -120

Mark Henry/Swagger +170/Field -230

The Ascension +500/Field -900

Darren Young/Damien Sandow +500/Field -900

I don't even understand the Henry/Swagger and Young/Sandow teams but this is their 2nd biggest PPV so it's probably like WM where everyone needs to be involved in some way. But if that is the case and they're putting them in this match so they don't have to put them in the Rumble then that may mean more surprise appearances in the Rumble and I'm all for that.

So strange Seth Rollins is forgot and I expect him the number30!

I think it will be the winner...

1) Seth Rollins didn 't lost realy his title it was just because of injuries..so it just make sens if reins will lost it could back to seth

2) last year WM Seth rollins pinned Reins so it makes sens this year Reins will took his revenge on him at Wm

3) On my mind wwe his trying to make big impact with Reins to be the man  it is not chance that he won lost won wwe title  ...wwe want him to built a new" legend" with him because cena orton etc now start to be old and so he needs to be champions a lot of times..like cena was.

4) I think the Rock or an other old legend will take care of Lesnar and so Lesnar will care on him for WM. Anyway it could be possible 2winners on the same time like Rollins+Lesnar and so triple threat at WM it could make sense too regarding last year happened..

5) HHH favorite  I think it is  a bluff from WWE  the recent attack of reins on HHH could be logical but the problem is that wwe have nothing to win with HHH to be new champion!!! BUT I think it will cost Reins victory. I will see more HHH be special referee in WM for the wwe title!



what about taker apparence in RR and wm opponent?

I got some Daniel Bryan action last night at +3750. It's +1500 now... and people wonder why we bet on this stuff, lol

I remember getting Miz to beat Cena in the main event a while back at like +1100 or something. Led to a big dispute with the powers that be.

There are value in the dogs in WWE, but only early. Once the odds shift massively, all value is gone.

New scenario idea: Reigns is getting destroyed by multiple guys (Wyatt family?) and the next countdown reveals a surprise entrant of THE ROCK. He comes down, cleans house, eventually it gets down to Rock, Reigns, and someone else. Rocky and Reigns eliminate the guy. Rock starts clapping, hugging Reigns, indicating he's going to hop off the apron and give him the win. BUT -- NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND! While he raises Reigns' hand, he ends up jerking him over the top rope, revealing he's been in cahoots with the Authority the entire time! Heel Rocky v. Face Reigns at WM for the title.

No?

All of these "who is eliminated first" bets makes me want to play dogs across the board. They're really coin flip type bets, and I'm gonna go on to predict that an all-dog plays across the board will net a profit.

Daniel Bryan to even BE in the Rumble is +180 YES / -260 NO. If he's going to be in the Rumble, he's going to win it, so this is a terrible wager, just take the +1500 even if the value is gone compared to last night.

My current Rumble plays:

Jericho to win the Rumble +5000
Sheamus to win the Rumble +3300
Daniel Bryan to win the Rumble +3750
The Rock to win the Rumble +5500

All long shots but I could make plausible scenarios for each one.

I never really considered a "dual winner" scenario like they did with prior Rumbles... just imagine Tony ending up "no actioning" all plays on the Rumble rather than paying out half-wins or something.
