Keeping it simple in this race. Quite simply it's all about ratings. 11 of the past 12 winners all earned top Beyer speed figures at 7f plus OR they earned two DRF speed ratings of 105+. Last year Awesome Feathers was the only qualifier for both angles and the won at 5/1. This year My Miss Aurelia has the top Beyer whilst Northern PAssion and Weemissfrankie have earned the two DRF rating in excess of 105. Those are the three for me to concentrate.
As I'm shooting in the dark, I think I'll concentrate on value with a view to a top three finish with any win a nice bonus. I'm not keen on backing front runners despite the American jockeys' style of riding to the clock and My Miss Aurelia is favourite at 5/2 here. Not an EW proposition. Northern PAssion is interesting but like plenty of turf horses she must answer questions on whether she can make a transition from turf to dirt. However she is a nice price at 14/1.
Given the trends in her favour and her price of 7/1, Wemissfrankie represents good value and she's my pick.

am happy with the card with no banker bet however. The only races I'm split on is the Mile and Classic. Probably overthinking Goldikova's chances as she really should be odds on but still is on offer at a backable price. May let that ride and enjoy the race.
Classic- I don't have a confident pick. Wide open and the consensus seems to be the US horses this year are not a great bunch. We'll see how the meeting goes and I think for me, how Brigantin gets on dirt as well as the other European raiders on the surface before making any play on SYT.
Best of Luck! I think i'm done research wise! Now looking at UK horse racing! lol.. :)

British trainers furious at closure of BC turf track
By Tom Kerr 2:42PM 3 NOV 2011 RICHARD HANNON jnr accussed Breeders' Cup officials of treating British trainers like "second-class citizens" after a row over work access to the turf course erupted at Churchill Downs, leaving British trainers furious at the disruption to their runners' Breeders' Cup preparations.
Strong Suit, running for Richard Hannon in the mile, Elusive Kate, for John Gosden in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, and Sea Moon, for Sir Michael Stoute in the Turf, were all refused permission to work on the turf course on Thursday morning after it was closed following arain shower.
The Racing Post's correspondent at Churchill Downs said Sir Michael Stoute was visibly angry and frustrated at being told Sea Moon could not exercise on the turf track. The row comes a year after the same trainer withdrewWorkforce from the Turf due to the poor condition of the course.
Richard Hannon jnr, who is representing his father in the United States, declared the British trainers had been treated as "second-class citizens" by the Breeders' Cup officials, in contrast to the reception given to American horses coming to Royal Ascot when "we have treated them like kings and queens and gone out of our way to make sure that they get whatever they ask for."
Hannon jnr, speaking to richardhannonracing.tv, added: "It is an absolute disgrace, and I now know why my dad won't come to America. He has always been a good judge and he won't have the Yanks at any price - and he is dead right. It has cost us £120,000 to bring Strong Suit to America, and we have been treated like second-class citizens.
"They had a bit of rain this morning, but it was nothing major and I could not believe it when we were told that we would not be able to work on the grass track.
"Our plan had been to give Strong Suit a good blow-out with Hughesie aboard around two bends on the track, but that will not now be possible. There is no way we would gallop tomorrow, 24 hours before therace, so they have completely ruined our routine.
"They said that we could work on the main track, but the holes in the dirt are full of water and it is dangerous. There is no way that three European horses would have cut up the turf track - they will do more damage today when horses go down to the start, and it is a complete joke."

oh dear.. I really do not know what to make of this but we know Stoute had issues last year with the course's going leading to the withdrawal of Workforce. Does this affect Strong Suit's chances? I really do not know. I do not know whether they have had an interrupted prep but I would think that is very rare if there is no injury. Closest to this situation is weather interrupted preparation and those horses are normally short of race sharp fitnesss come raceday. However, Strong Suit's been on the go all season and should not have any issues whatsoever with fitness.
BUT there's been a market move for Strong Suit in that he is drifting out significantly across the board since he was drawn 11. He drifted from 3/1 to 4/1 in places AFTER the draw and now they are generally going 9/2 after this latest news. Obviously the bookies have more experience in this and they see this as a big setback. I think it's a slight exaggeration and the bigger question is whether he can win from a wide draw.
I'll probably sit tight on Goldikova but not confident hence only the 3pt win stake. GL

Like your way of thinking on most. I really disagree with Switch but really the only one. Have bad taste from last year BC with her. I think she was much better last year and couldn't win is all. Really liked your turf writeup. Think you are spot on. About them closing the track, it has been raining for about 3 hrs. I do know for a fact they cut the grass extra short for ouiji board when she won here. Went to a breeders cup show at Churchill that year and they were talking about it. Won quit a bit on her that year, god i loved that horse. Bol to you.

Was thinking the same thing with goldikova. I really want to bet against her but who is going to beat her? I can't see her getting beat so will probably roll with her myself.

I think the horse is off form. She will get bet she always does. Really liked this horse last year. She was so much better going in to last years BC. That is just my opinion. I think she can hit the board just do not see her winning. You have given some great input on the races. Not trying to deter your bet. BOL

Cheers. I actually think her two ONLY runs in dirt sprints since last year's BC is more indicative of her chances then overall form which isn't too shabby either finishing close seconds to HDG, Blind Luck and Miss Match!

Best of luck! THnaks for the link.. Just thinking bout that first race, the draw is obviously important but the kickback looks tough if you're ridden from the rear.. Secret Circle was treading water in the latter stages but he burnt all of them off. We'll know more in the next race!

I like value.. i was able to get 9/2 so for me, i think Switch is an EW bet to nothing.. should be top 3 for sure and money back at the very least.. well i hope so! lol.. As a 3yo against her elders going back to the first race, it looks testing out there and Switch's stamina and proven championship ability swings it for me.
