Saturday night racing:
-beautifully warm with SW wind giving a little push around the end of the first turn so when we had this wind the other night, aggressive outside post position drivers took advantage and slingshot to the front
-10 mph wind most of the night and FOG which for me, is not ideal since I like watching the races
-with in mind, I may just do some $10/$4 DOUBLES to build some capital and see if I can snag a medium to long double for $120-500
I am capping the PICK5 for those that wish to get some help or advice....been hot but not always selecting the right mix....still in a good rhythm of winning profits since starting back up the middle of December and within a whisker of hitting $14500 P5 and last Monday or Saturday, one for $6000+
Race 1: - This one has to be broken down a little to explain why I believe there are 2 horses that will fight for it....and then maybe we get an upset due to a speed dual?
#10 - is going to the lead with JMAC on the outside using the slingshot and he will settle the horse on the backstretch....there seems to be an unwritten rule that you do not pass JMAC once he gets the lead until the last curve on the final turn...and if you are Doug McNair, you do it for sure! These two are good friends and like to fight each other down the lane but Doug is not there....
#6 - this horse will use his speed to get into the top 4 and maybe top 2 but I don't think McClure cares if he comes first over or on a helmet with this horse....he is the perfect driver for the horse to sit in the 2 hole, come with cover or blast to the lead
Maybe: - #1 > good driver change and might find a way to wiggle up the middle or on the cones to steal one
#5 > Cullen gets middle of the gate but I find he is shy on holding the front end when he does and will let JMAC pass him if need be and then come out later at him down the stretch/last curve
#8 > Ondres loves a race like this one and has the horse that he can utilize well to sit back and come 3 wide on the final turn and just let the horse go....he picked up a real nice horse here for his racing style
Surprise Horses: #3-4
Suggestion: Without looking at other races, I would just place the #6 and #10 (note the 17 for 43 races as winners record by the trainer!) on your PICK5 ticket and sit back to watch.
I would also suggest a PICK3 with all other horses including the Surprise horses
Longshot double play > #8 with whatever you like in Race 2 for $1-2 each....it is worth a stab!
Race 2: - It looks like a 2 horse race but like the first race, there could be a surprise so again, play for a surprise but realize with the warmer weather, you go with the horses who are most fit and that is #5 in regular rotation again or #2 Caviar and Crackers who is used to wicked speed battles. I anticipate one in this race with my surprise horse trying to get to the front and has proven its a tough horse with speed also
Surprise Horse: #8 < a lot of people will overlook this one but with Drury at the reins, he will go to the front to steal one or gain the two hole when #5 tries to take the lead on the front and when he battles #2 who will come late, #1, 4 or #8 might steal this race up the cones or middle....
If doing a PICK3 > take 12458
Realistically > #1,2,4 and 5 are what you need for the PICK5
Race 3: - just need 2 horses in my opinion but a couple others might surprise
Best: #2 and #3 < this will be a good battle
Maybe: #4 and #6 are both fully capable to steal one and I lean more to #4 if you wish to add
Race 4: - Lamborghini Lou will have to work to win this race....
Likely: 39 > #3 Sargent Slaughter is ready to have a great race with this group and with its type of races lately....its fit. Bet the BB has a nice position on the gate and since Jodi is not here tonight, Travis Cullen is the other Mr. Saturday night driver who seems to have success and jump up with a horse that is close, when you least expect it
Maybe: #1,2,5
Take all 5 horses??
Race 5: - feel you need only #2 and #7
Maybe: #4,6 and 8 ....both 4 and 6 are capable of stealing a race in this class....PMAC is not the best coming from way back I notice lately....his hands are just not like they were 15 - 20 years ago
#6 won race 3 .....#2 won race 2....I got a PICK3 3x for $11.71 ....almost got my money out

I had a ticket going to #4 in race 3 and thought I won or at worst had a DEAD HEAT but they gave it to #6 by a whisker
I would have had #9 keyed and then #2 and #7 in Race 5

Thursday: - very windy tonight and cheap horses in first couple of races
-don't take anything on the outside unless they can get to the front.... 25 mph wind in their face leaving the gate and down the home stretch
Race 1 > I smell and upset but logically....only could use #5 and 7 .....but do not leave out Mystic Wild Rose #3 ....I predict Randy W will make her his pick in this race....
Maybe: #4 but do not like driver....horse leaves and might win up the cones? Good race pedigree
Race 2 > #6 won me a nice cashout last time in the P5 but I sense some shenanigans in this race with the wind and the fact the horse is a major contender
Taking 5 horses > 23456
Race 3 > taking 3-4 horses that can move off the gate or move well at the 3rd Q
Surprise: #3 < Tyler will get the most out of this horse and maybe win

Race 4 > just need 3 horses but I will do a PICK3 onto #1 and #4 starting in RACE 2 .....when it seems obvious, the drivers bring home a longshot to mess up the PICK5

Race 5 > Just need #4 and #10 ... I think I am going to key #4 on my PICK5 and do a 10-4 Exactor which would pay really well vs the other way

Did not play the PICK5 tonight or last night because I find that when the weather is so cold, it is a bit of a mystery as to how some horses will run with less warmup time and if they like the very cold air for breathing
I usually do not play Mohawk when I see the temps as -10 C or colder and windy....its just too much of a crapshoot
Hoping Monday is not crazy cold too
I think I am going to play tonight....cold but very beautiful evening ....track should be fast and hard and we will probably see some speed battles which opens up closers tonight in the cold
-wind is not really a factor.... 12 mph into their face coming home and leaving
Its the type of night I think that cold weather horses would like and so you have to pay attention to which horses are waking up in the colder weather....
Ahh..shit...they started at 630 pm now and I didn't have my capping done....sorry. I saw them do this another night and I am wondering if this is regular now??
South wind so horses sitting 2nd or 3rd over or even dead last have a shot to win tonight if there was a speed battle early......the wind is from the SOUTH which will be at their backs on the last turn
Just saw #10 and looks great. I am doing $5 across on #2 AND $2 across on #10.....#2 looked amazing!!!!
I am alive to the #2 in the 5TH RACE .....going to put $50 or $100 to win on #7 who I think should romp here if my #2 does not fire first time out of a layoff, but the class horse

Strong west wind so closers will have issues....horses need to be near the front
