I'm from the NW so this is easy for me.
Gary Stevens winning the KY Derby on Silver Charm in 1997. Cashed my biggest bet, at that time when he won the Preakness. If he hadn't taken him back and swung out wide in the far turn, I think he would have won the Belmont.
Seeing him come out of a 7 year retirement and win the Preakness and BC Classic brought a tear to my eye.

Growing up in Chicago, we had a bunch of tracks here when I was a little kid and my Dad, a major horse player, dragged me in short pants to Sportsman's Park, Washington Park, Hawthorne, Arlington and the harness venues.
I actually got to see Willie Shoemaker, Billy Hartack and the old hard knockers.
