Margins are terrible at both of those places, you are fortunate to make 7-10% of sales and you have to work the places as a GM for a period of time until you are able to hire one.
Also, I would never want a delivery store, that is filled with headaches and liabilities.

2169, I was thinking about a food truck.
A good friend of mine is a chef.
Bring him on board as a partner.
The Boston Rox(?) seem to be doing great with their grilled cheese truck.
Man, I have thought of a bunch of ideas. I'm having a hard time trusting myself and jumping into anything.

I have given this some thought as well but I wouldn't want to run the business thats why I helped a buddy of mine go into business for himself as a landscaper/landscape designer so far this venture has worked out very well for me but if it was me and I had to run it I would just put it into the market with a very aggressive strategy since this is a gambling site 100K on LSU ML is a lock

I drove from L.A. to Seatlle a couple of yrs ago, I can't remember where it was exactly, just south of San Fran I think, but there was a hole in the wall restauant that sold everything for a buck.
Chili dog, hamburger, taco, 20 oz pepsi products, ice cream cone..All kinds of shit. Plus a display case full of 10 cent candy.
None of it looked very good..Thin burger with ketchup and mustard only..No tomatoes on the taco etc..Quantity, not quality...But the place was standing room only. Really jumping.
I've tried to run the numbers a few times..You'd need really cheap product/suppliers and lots of foot traffic..But I'm sure there's a profit in there somewhere.

Down here the semi-self serve car wash is big business.
I pay 20 bucks a month for unlimited car washes, higher end quality and then you pull forward into designated bay areas where you detail with free vacs and space to detail.
They advertise 3 dollar wash with free vacs and here the place runs full year round.

I think its pretty easy to set up.
I was thinking about a place with workers and a few high pressure power washing tools but we do have one " do it yourself" wash near my home and that place is incredibly busy all year around.
Wallstreetcappers "semi-self" car wash is something I have never seen around my parts.
But just by memory, car washing places don't seem to close down much.
Rent a warehouse/garage type space (700-1500/month), plug in a few tools, get a few workers.. Probably around 3k-7k in equipment, a decent road sign 1k-3k and a few dollars to start up... I cant see it go much higher then 20-25k for a decent looking business.
If I did not have a stable full time job , that would be my next venture.

Man, I don't know about Pizza Hut or Little Caesars, but my brother sells pizza out of his restaurant and he told me the margin on pizza is sick. I guess if you buy into a franchise, the fees eat into your piece of the pie. But you can start your own biz and do pretty well with it, if you run a tight ship.
As for the delivery business, just set up a separate LLC for your delivery fleet. So, your pizza restaurant will be "hiring a different company" to deliver for you. That way, you can limit your delivery related liabilities.

He must be supplying all the labor (working tons), working bare bones marketing and have cheap rent with heavy sales or a lack of competition.
Usually food costs are going to run 30% to 40% including waste and paper, labor can run 20% to 40% including management and FICA taxes etc..then you have utilities, rent, marketing/advertising, kitchen supplies..
Unless you are running 750k plus a year in sales, the real margins are less than 10%, sometimes more like 5% or even worse..

Wallstreet, you're going to think i'm an idiot but i'm going to ask it.
I'm just using this place as an example.
Would a bank assume that if you bought this place your income would be $61,000 or whatever number the previous business owner says that they were cash flowing each year?
How would the bank figure that^^^ when you're applying for a loan and the new business will be your income?

I dont think you are an idiot.
You would need verification via tax returns, bank statements etc.
That net number is pretty much worthless because it doesnt tell you if the guy is the only employee, what costs they are excluding (marketing for example). I would want to see bank statements and tax returns and interview the help, watch the joint for a day and see the car count etc.
That being said, the 10% margin is awful..just terrible.You might as well find a franchise and open a newer one yourself.
THIS one is what I go to locally..

Everyone is familiar with Google Maps....right? Did you know that Google is taking it one step further and you will soon be able to use the street level views and go into shops. Imagine the ability to go online an virtually shop local stores, check them out with Google checkout and have your wife (or personal assistant) pick up your package. Even better would be a Google delivery service, just like UPS, but all local deliveries. That's just the tip of my idea iceberg.
It's all coming, the question is who will develop the technology first?
Sadly, 100k wouldn't even get it off the ground for me.
