That crap Friday about FNM and FRE was totally an inside job.  Paulson is as guilty as hell of insider trading, and if I were on the SEC I would come after his gdmf ass right now.
 
And the yapping today about Nat'l City and Wamu.......more lies to run the price down only to send it up while those running the fibs can profit.
 
Ain't going near banks.......long or short.

I could see some damage to these high leverage banks like WM and NCC and ZION and KEY etc..even BAC and C, all of them getting hit hard.

FRE and FNM getting nailed again by the short..down near the lows

No +200 day on Dow, and I have to call up Jim Cramer tonight and kiss his ass...........a +200 Dow day, and you go to do it, and before he cuts you off, talk about what a sexy fox is Maria Bartiromo.

I will not support anyone calling that show, it has to be something more worthwhile.

Loser has to watch Fast Money or whatever that show is with those 4 high ego morons.

Speaking of Cramer, did anyone see that NBC has a program in primetime with him on it? What a TOTAL JOKE.

I agree, Cramer's show is nothing but a quick laugh.
 
Yeah, man, I have seen the "Fast Money" show they do after Maria.  The bald guy is pretty damn smart.  Am shocked that he is working for CNBC, being that smart.  I agree that the others are dummies, but the bald-headed dude really does know his stuff.

  Guys, now that I have had some more sleep, I wanted to thank all of you...the validity of the saying "hope for the best but prepare for the worst" has been reinforced to me in spades this July 4.

  And I did not mean to imply that this country and market cannot rebound from its distress. However, Virginia, I was trying to caution people (of all ages) to be aware how long it took for the market to return to its levels from the Great Depression. If you are like Ben Bernanke and think the printing press has made depressions obsolete, OK, and I hope you are right...I think Ben's comment was an absurdity that will haunt him for years to come, and I suspect he now wiishes he had never said such an inanity.

Well, WSC, you'll win the bet.
 
So...............2 things positive:
 
1) Since the entire world is mired in pessimism regarding its future economic prospects, "we're due for a rally."
 
2) "Only" 7 more weeks of "summer driving season."

Any SP 500 "rally" there is can be labeled "sucker's."  But a rally is a rally.

Vermeer, I doubt anyone took offense at what you said and pessimism has been the general tone of this board for a few years..pockets of optimism but plenty of pessimism and we have been right.

You ever watch the History Channel?  Maybe not.  Anyway, I watch a lot of that crap when I'm gambling on games/markets at the computer and doing paperwork.  They have some good stuff on there from time to time........especially the "barbarian" and "viking" and "ancient Rome/Greece" stuff.
 
I saw some stuff on "The Dark Ages" and on "The Decadence of Rome" this weekend.  A lot of people liken the USA to Rome.  No way are we that decadent, yet.  Not even close.  The way that the Roman Emperors carried on makes our loser politicians look like the damn monks from the "Dark Ages."
 
So..............
 
The world has certainly seen, and recovered, from far worse times than now.
