Cheapest Days to Visit Vegas?

I am attempting to to go to Vegas in either May, June, or July for 3 or 4 nights. Can someone tell me the days/nights and month in which I would find the cheapest deal? I really appreciate it...I am scouring Expedia right now but that is getting old quick lol. Thanks fellas.

I am looking to go on a relatively small budget. I want to have the biggest bankroll possible. So I am not interested in blowing a lot of cash on a nice hotel or anything like that...It seems that booking on Expedia or Priceline is a lot cheaper than just booking a flight by itself. Hell, most of the flights plus hotel on Expedia are cheaper than a plane ticket through United, US Air, Delta, etc. I hate to sound like a cheap ass but I really don't care...I am trying to stretch my buck as far as possible.  I have never been to Vegas but am Jonesin to go and don't plan on spending tons of cash when I am there but a enough to have a good time, I am definitely a small time player so I can actually stretch 200 bucks quite a ways or what not. Any help would be great.

I will be flying from North Carolina so I would like to try and stay 4 nights. But my buddy that goes out there says that I will be burned out after 2 nights but I kinda find this hard to believe, is there any merit to that?...since I am flying across the country I definitely want to make the most of it while I am there. So would Sunday-Thursday be the cheapest 4 night adventure?

Sun-Thurs are definitely your cheapest days to go. 

Getting "burned out" is all about what you do.  If you come and immediately go on a 48hr bender, then I'd agree, 4 days could be a stretch.  With this being your first trip, though, I'd assume you'll be doing lots of sight-seeing and walking around, just checking things out, which should keep you away from the burned out feeling. 

Later June or July would probably be the cheapest, as it starts to get very warm in LV and fewer people travel. 

Not sure if you're an NBA fan, but planning a trip around the NBA finals might give you something interesting to keep tabs on in the sportsbook.

How much you spend and how much you save all depends on what you want to do.  LV is for everybody at different price levels.  There are countless free/cheap shows, cheap meals, low minimum tables, etc, but the top world-class meals and shows are available for the right price as well.

If you're trying to save some $, especially during the week, hit a buffet around 1pm or something and just load up for the day.  Might need a light snack at night, but it's always generally cheaper than 2 big meals, and buffet lunch prices, especially week days, are always cheaper. 

Thanks heinz, I really appreciate it. I have basically honed the following in. Leave Sunday, May 13 and come back Friday, May 18. I will be flying for free (my dad has tons of rewards points because he travels about 2-3 weeks out of the month). So that is a huge bonus. I have priced various hotels and Circus Circus is the cheapest on the strip but its at the wayyyyyy end of the strip and here that it is pretty rough. Right now I am leaning toward Excalibur $35 a night Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday....$45 on Thursday. So that is about $185 bucks for 5 nights (plus I am sure some bullshit fees/charges). But roughly 200 bucks for 5 nights and a free plane ticket? I don't think I can complain too much. My buddy was telling me to stay away from Excalibur because of the location but I looked at the map and there a multiple casinos right near Excalibur, like Mandalay Bay, Luxor, MGM Grand, the Trop...so I don't think that is too bad. Then I read that Excalibur is 1.1 miles from Bills Gambling Hall which is in the heart of the strip. Yes, I plan on doing tons of walking and exploring so I don't mind that and hopefully it won't be TOO hot in mid May but I have no idea lol. Even if I don't wanna walk a cab ride to the heart of the strip can't be too pricey lol. So right now thats what I am looking at doing. Also, I am an NBA fan and the playoffs start April 28 so I will be there during the NBA playoffs and right as the MLB season is getting in gear (huge baseball fan here). I will be mainly sports betting, playing poker, and some blackjack. But will be learning how to play craps, pai gow poker and baccarat before leaving! I hear pai gow and baccarat are very easy to learn (craps not so much). stay at any Harrah's property.  Rio, bally's, IP, Paris, harrahs and you do not pay resort fees.  This will save you money for the number of nights you plan on staying in LV.

Yeah I saw that...but most of the harrahs properties are basically double the price as a night in excalibur. So I think even with the resort fee I would be getting off cheaper I believe...

There is a FREE tram that operates between Excalibur, Luxor  and Mandalay Bay.....Excalibur is across the street from the Tropicana, MGM Grand and NY/NY....next door to NY/NY at the Monte Carlo there is another FREE tram that operates between Monte Carlo, Aria and Bellagio...which is connects you to Caesars and is across the street from the Paris......just to name a few.....Excalibur is fine, much less expensive on the food also at their restaurants/pubs.....

Well actually I just checked out Bills Gambling hall. To stay there for 5 nights May 13-18 it would cost me $309.75 which really isn't too bad...about 50 bucks more for my 5 night stay compared to if I stayed at Excalibur and evidently the location is much better. How does that sound to you fellas?

I think Excalibur is nicer that Bills as far as rooms, restaurants and stuff but bills is directly across from the bellagio and in a better location.

Honestly think I am leaning toward at Excalibur at this point....

I am looking at it from the price point and the players clubs. Advantage of Excalibur is it is cheap, and the MLife club is decent with comps. I gamble at all Harrah's, Boyd's, and MGM properties, because I own stock in all of them, but right now, Harrah's is treating me the best as far as comps go. That being said, TI uses the MLife database for membership information, so TI actually gives a little better comps than MLife will usually offer. Keep that in mind.

As far as where to stay, if you asked me straight up, I'd look at Bill's Gamblin' Hall. You think you're going to want to walk everywhere, but you're not taking into consideration that the heat and walking all the time is going to take its toll, so location is important. Bill's is in a nice location, and is halfway decent as a hotel. Also, their table minimums are low, iirc.

I'd actually think staying July 4 weekend would be cheaper, b/c I was there last July, and Vegas wasn't really that busy. I was surprised, b/c I thought more people would travel that weekend.

Craps is easy to learn. You want to roll a 7 or 11 on the first roll. If they hit, you win. If they roll a 2, 3, or 12, you lose. Any other number besides those becomes the point. You want them to roll the point before they roll a 7, and you win. Easier way to think about it is you want a 7 or 11 on the first roll. After that, you want them to roll anything but a 7. Everything else on the table is just bets on various other combinations of numbers that can come up.

Agree on going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and loading up. Food can be expensive there. If you want cheaper food, go off the Strip. Also, they still have good deals on food downtown, if you're trying to stretch your dollar.

Since this is your first trip, don't forget to buy a $1 chip from every casino you visit, and keep it as a souvenir. Cheap, and makes for a great keepsake for your trip.

i am flying out 2morrow nite for the sweet 16 and cali. race!!!    if u r looking 2 go cheap go in june or july and fly out on a sun. and come back on a wed. or thur.  and yes 4 nights is to much only reason i am doing it is the race is on the sun.  and i dont get in till 3am thur. morn est   straight to bed and then start my vacation 1st thing thur. morn.   best of luck buddy

AD,I'd choose Bill's and book directly through them.I had to change an Expedia reservation once and it was a pain.CSR's were Indian IIRC..and keep checking Ceasar's/Bills website weekly to see if they drop the price at all,if they do they will give you the new rate.

Sign up for a Total Rewards card before you play a dime.Even if you don't rack up any serious action,next time you book at any Ceasars property,you will at least get a reduced rate,maybe a free room.Right now you are just coming in off the street so to speak.

One day take the Rio shuttle from Paris and check out the Palms and Gold Coast ($1.50 hotdogs in the sportsbook) cheap lunch! Rio sportsbook is a great place to drink some comped beers (Just have a ticket or two in fron of you and tip the server) and watch the BB games daytime..Love it.Gold Coast also has a shuttle that runs from Bills to the Orleans,Gold Coast and back,I don't think they check if you are a hotel guest.

Check out downtown for lower-limit table games,the 'duece' is a 24 hour Strip CAT bus that is cheap for a day pass.You see all types on that bus esp at night..Freemont Street experience is pretty cool for a newbie.

And like Beergut said- pocket some good condition chips from every place you hit,esp downtown.My first trip in my 20's was in 1986 and those chips/issues are $$ today..

Check out the people you will pass on the way to thier gates at Mcarron off the tram...heads down leaving LV..meanwhile your group arriving are all smling and shit..You know you have 4 days to live it up,max it out!

Thanks guys. I just did a little price comparing...honestly, May 13-18 is as pretty cheap and don't think I will get rates too much cheaper than that. I know my thread title was asking about the cheapest times to visit...but May just works out better than June or July for me I believe. Yeah, I definitely was gonna spend a day downtown on Fremont Street, I hear that limits are much lower downtown and that odds are typically better as well.

I just youtubed how to play craps, baccarat, and pai gow...baccarat and pai gow are incredibly simple. Craps is fairly easy at first but can get a bit more tricky it seems. 

Too bad Bob Stupak's Vegas World isn't around anymore.  That place was perfect for cheap asses.

As far as going solo, only thing I'd be careful about it being downtown at night. Usual thing about being safe when alone, you don't want to get into a situation you can't handle, so just be aware of your surroundings at all times.

As far as learning to play craps, don't sweat it, most places have a craps class free each morning, usually around 11 or 11 AM. Also, if you have any questions, the dealers are always glad to help you.

Dude do you realize that Sunday May 13 is Mothers Day? If your mother is alive and a part of your lie I would think she wouldnt be too happy.
