plus bills has free shuttle bus to gold coast, orleans, and sams town. some great off strip properties with good poker rooms and good value eateries. some of the best cheap buffets in vegas. Gold coast is good cause you can hit the Rio, and Palms right next door. When done take free shuttle bus back to strip.

You are fine with Bill's - can't beat the location. You have the right idea on bankroll, spread it around and try it all to have fun. You're gonna leave it there anyway so have fun walking all the casinos. The key to getting a nice buzz is to hang at a casino bar and play video poker for comped drinks. As for poker - if you play at Bill's, Flamingo, Harrah's those are all average games and you won't get taken like you will at Ceasar's, Venetian or where the sharks hang. Since it's your first trip spend the days walking around and hitting all the casinos to see it all, recoup in early evening and then hit the casinos you want to play at night. That's what I do and I've been going 2x a year for the past 12 years - I still enjoy seeing it all - it's the best people watching in the world, both good and bad...

downtown and orleans has low cost tourney games with some of the toughest local players......this is a great place to test skills against some of the best without spending a fortune ......

Looked into any weekly suite places? When I first moved down here a while back there were some right near the strip for like $200-300 for 7 a week and they usually have a kitchen.

ad- What do they do in Texas for DUI ? In NY they will make you install a camera IN your car and install special ignition and go to consulling and pay fines until your ass bleeds red and the insurance co. hates it when you do that.GL

I say this because time flies and there is no last cool. You essentially have no idea what time it is ever and a lot of the time you are indoors so it is easy to lose track of time.
I love gambling at Bill's. It's probably some of the cheapest table games on the strip and it is the cheapest Hold em you will find. And if I can give you a tip for when you play there(it's $1/.50cent blinds and a minimum $20 buy in which is really cheap and they also have $30 tourneys that start every few hours) is throw the cocktail waitress $5 right off the bat. Most players there are really cheap and only tip .50 cents for every drink and then wonder why she rarely comes around. Give her a $5 chip right off the bat and make eye contact with her and smile and tell her to keep bringing them. Throw her a buck a drink after that. I've had it to the point where I have 3 or 4 drinks in front of me and I had to tell her to stop bringing them for a bit.
I personally wouldn't stay at Bill's. I wouldn't mind spending a little bit more money for a better room. I know you don't plan on staying in the room much, but eventually you will hit a wall and want a decent place to crash. Not that the Excalibur is a 5 star resort, but imo, it's better than Bill's.
Each place has it's benefits as far as location goes. Excal is closer to MGM, Mandalay, Luxor, all the south end strip places. MGM is great sportsbook and it's fun to bet and catch games there. Bill's is closer to center strip and the cheaper drinking and gambling locations like Harrah's, IP, Flamingo, O'Shea's(really cheap here), etc.
BTW, don't place sports bets at the IP. Half the time there dry erase board with lines isn't accurate to what line they will give you for an event. It's a pretty shady practice imo.
Whatever you decide I hope you have a blast. Make sure you ask about comps and drink tickets and players club memberships. It will usually result in saving on buffets or comped meals and free or bogo drink specials.

Really appreciate the words Ktrain. I have lived in dorms and apartments with 3 dudes the last 5 years so I think I will be okay with Bills (lodging wise). Also, I am positive I will not be get burnt out, Vegas is the Mecca for gamblers...me making this trip will be like the first time a Muslim actually does take the pilgrimage to the real Mecca . I will definitely keep that in mind about tipping the gals at Bills IF I play poker there...from what I read its not the most profitable experience because of the high number of small stacks at the table. Any suggestions on where to find some of the softest tables from your experience playing NLHE Ktrain?

Bills is definitely not a place to try and win significant money. It's a place to get drunk and and bull shit with people for cheap. I guess if I was going to try and make some serious coin I would look to MGM or Mandalay(although there probably won't be a ton of games here. I played at the Aria one night and that place was packed all night(i got kicked out around 4 or 5 am there my only night playing) and they had no shortage of games or players and were even opening up new tables into the early AM.
