Cheapest Days to Visit Vegas?

VEGAS!!!!

Saturday night is generally the priciest as far as hotel stays. I would recommend either Excalibur, Bally's, Planet Hollywood, Riviera or Imperial Palace. They are on the strip and historically cheaper than the other places.

Try contacting the properties directly or use Bookit.com. I have booked my last few room stays through the site and have found some good deals. Expedia is trash these days. Priceline is also worth a peek. Remember if you dont ask for a deal, they may not give. Just see if they had something. Last time I was able to stay at PH for free! And they gave me $20 free play on top of it and a bottle of liquor from they're store.

Take advantage and sign up for players promotions. For example, last time I played at Planet Hollywood and a nights worth of gambling netted me a free brunch buffet the next day. Those types of things add up. You can avoid taxi fares by planning your routes accordingly. They have a free shuttle that meets outside of Paris that will take you to the Rio as well as other properties. Also the "duece" is a bus that travels the strip. It is extremely annoying as it stops at every stop, but you can get to old downtown for like $2.

I read your original post and it reminded me of times when I was so value conscious going to Vegas. Fuck, I'm still value conscious. I'm not cheap, ill splurge for the brunch at the Sterling or for good seats at a show (I do not go to Vegas for shows, but wifey wants to so I take her out). Nothing wrong with stretching your dollar. Don't let the haters rattle you.

Not sure if you're going solo or not but I have done it and I had just as much fun as going with friends or wifey. The last night I did not have a room and my flight was not until 8:00am the next day. So I had to pull a long shift. Was pretty much even until hitting a wheel of fortune for $250. Then I played poker at the MGM late night. I played with the guy from the Sonic fast food commercials, it was funny how this stoner guy recognized him. Anyway, I hit a set of Kings.Everyone was chasing various draws and missed, I won a huge pot of $1500!! I played 2 more hands and cashed out! Its funny how poker players remember the bad beats, which I do, but this win Ill never forget.

Security is very good in Vegas, even outside the properties. Yeah sure, if you catch the eye of some drunk fuck who wants to pick a fight then decisions have to be made.

You have already checked out allvegaspoker.com which is a great site. For a good cheap tourney, try the Sahara, everyday at 11-7-11 they have a tourney for like $69 (I forget) but its a good value. As I write this, I may be wrong but I think they may have blown that place up. Regardless, I found the game at Aria fairly soft compared to Bellagio, Venetian or Ceasars. My advise is that if you see the dealers recognize players and make small talk, you may be at a rocky table with locals looking to hustle you. Same if they have players cards. I was at a table like this last time at Planet Hollywood. It felt like the scene from Rounders when their all playing at the same table at the casino. Just be aware of the players, if the table doesn't seem to be "touristy" or "fishy" get up and walk away. There are too many rooms out there so finding a good game is very simple. Also recommend the RIO. Awesome room, had a great time playing there. Even though I was down for that session, there were some entertaining players who were giving money away. I lost because of bad luck. The Seafood buffet there is a must try. Always stop there and feast, get the runs later.LMAO

Remember that at the Blackjack tables the longer you play the more you lose. That stupid game is my nemesis, yet I cant seem to stay away. Not sure I need to tell you this but do shop around for lines on sports.

Thanks for the write up man...I am going with my brother the nights of May 6, 7, 8, and 9...and leaving around 11:55PM on the 10th staying at Bills Gamblin' Hall (value/location). Thanks for the poker room tips. That is one thing that I have consistently heard, there are PLENTY of soft tables in Vegas so there is no sense in playing at one with a bunch of locals/sharks.

Other than poker (which will be my priority choice of game) I will be doing some decent sports betting, especially on baseball. Thanks for your blackjack tip however, the longer at the table usually means the more you lose

So my stints on the blackjack tables will be brief indeed, hopefully I can win me some dinner money from blackjack haha.

Lmao, yeah, I think they did blow up Sahara a while back. I am a big seafood fan so if I make it out to the Rio I will definitely checkout the seafood buffet.

Any other suggestions on some tourneys that are about 100 bucks or less?

bizkilla, thats badass about that 1500 poker pot you won, thats always a rush...by the way, where did you hit that 250 bucks on that Wheel of Fortune Machine at??? I read somewhere that the Wheel of Fortune Machines at Binions "liberally spit out money". Hahaha. PS, BY NO MEANS DO I PLAY THE SLOTS BUT AM WILLING TO MESS AROUND FOR A FEW BUCKS TO KILL SOME TIME.
