Did anyone go to the Handicapping Seminar at Red Rock Casino last year? I think it was a two day event and a lot of people spoke on various topics. I have listened to some of the audio from it, and it seemed pretty interesting.
Just wondering if anyone went, and if so, what they thought of it...
Anyone know if they are having it this year? I called them and no one seemed to know and the marketing guy was not in and I didn't feel like leaving a voicemail.

thanks for the link - that is actually where i first heard of the event - i listened to some of the auido archive of the seminar - some really good stuff on there - i just didn't want to post a link with "another site's" URL in it - didn't know if that would be cool
I hope they have another one this year - might go - would be very interesting and fun to attend I would think
curious to see how much it will cost - it sounds like last year they had a great turnout and they had to move it into the hotel/casino convention center i think
and also another reason to go to Vegas - lol

I talked to someone at VegasInsider and they said that they are having it again this year - prob end of July or early/mid august - they think it will be at red rock but they are not completely sure yet
they said it will be on the website as soon as they have something finalized

Just keep an eye on their website. There are touts, pro handicappers, sports radio DJs, LVSC (the guys that suggest the opening lines), among other guests there. It's free.
Plus, the view off the second floor deck onto the pool area during the seminar breaks is great as well, believe me.

It's free and open to the public. Although you have to register (this is done so they have an idea as to how many will be there). Just keep an eye on the vegasinsider website, they'll have something up in the next couple/few months, I'm sure.

was this seminar mainly used by the touts and others who sell picks to try and get people to sign up with their service that were in attendance?
No. Although is it an vegasinsider.com (tout site). They're not pushing anything. There a lot of "non touts" on the panels as well.
As far as panel NFL record, that doesn't surprise me. Look, I don't work for any tout service, but enjoyed the seminar last year, as they talk about the industry, (offshore and Vegas), line movements, market analysis, trends, etc. I definately went away with a few tidbits of info that I could use. It's also a good forum to get guys together that try to do this right.

i agree - it sounds like a great event to attend - i just wondered how "touty" it was
the audio on the VI site is great - def thinking about going, just to see it and be a part of it - plus, every other industry seems to have a conference in vegas at some point, so why shouldn't sports bettors??
