That's cool AD.Can give you a couple tips about the GC,Best rooms are facing the Palms and on a higher floor..Worst are lower floors that overlook the back-employee entrances, dumpsters etc and pretty noisy. You may want to consider a $20 trick on check-in..
If you are a smoker or just want some fresh air, bring a pocket screwdriver set and you can open up the windows on the higher floors..For some reason they half-assed sealed them a few years ago..
The best bartenders work the vp bars in the back, tip and the beers will keep coming..Just watch out for the older woman who rotates breaks and is all about the company..no comps unless you;re playing max bet etc..she actually enjoys it when questioned about it..Play a few sportsbook bets and drink tickets are easy to get,use them at the center bar..
Gift shop is great for beers and snacks, very decent prices for a casino..Rooms have no fridge however,it's just a make your own with a bag and ice in the sink..sometimes you have to rough it
Fridays there is open 24 hrs,but best similar food is right off the Rio sportsbook..
My buddy and I go every year for opening week of NFL and every other year or so combine/use GC comps/Rio Comps so we can do 7-10 nights for just taxes internet fees etc..
Another thing,if you are into bowling,Never played there but the GC has the biggest center I have ever seen upstairs..Just incredible..

Hey AD,no the GC does not have a free airport shuttle. There are the pay shuttles,if you throw the driver a $5 he might stop in the Palms,Rio GC area first..If not you're stuck in traffic for 45 minutes..Keep an eye on people getting thier bags that they don't grab yours..another thing I don't like about them-you lose sight of your bag once you board..
Food is decent in the GC,there is a Friday's as I said and the Rio has options..There is always the food court in the Palms (Short walk across street) with pizza and McD's..
GC pool, well it has water in it...I've seen better at Holiday Inns..GC is mostly older clientele with some English tourists..def not the Vegas pool scene you're looking for..ha
But it's cool to place some bets there, hang around the Rio/Palms,you won't get bored..The bowling alley will amaze you..freaking huge..
Glad the info may help.

No prob man ..Last I took the shuttle was about 4 years ago,I'm guessing it's maybe $12 now? And didn't mean to warn you off taking it,just a head's up..Myself,I don't like losing track/sight of my bag if I can help it. I think it's called the ODC Shuttle or OTC,probably online w/prices..The shuttle counters are directly to the left off baggage claim.Once it fills up enough, you're off..They have pay in advance pick-up return service also..
I just take a taxi now, cause I am dying for a beer after 2 flights and 7 hours coming from FL through DFW or IAH...$ is no object
