Not completely sure because I have been tapping my foot all day....
I think its because they are still working out their order since they are new series.......rumour has it, its a chugging contest per home run hit during batting practice ....umpires should be good and juiced in Toronto, Colorado and Texas....not sure how to play those? ...lol
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

Saw you posted that wind will be helping the texas over, I just read this report: "Thursday night's game will feature partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures. Gusty winds blowing in from right field will reduce home run chances significantly throughout the evening."
Any comments?

Sure.....thats what I see sometimes too and shake my head since most of the time the wind is moving into home plate and there is something called the stadium jetstream....I will look it up now and post a link and quote for you below. (notice they mention when the wind is coming in from right centre which is exactly what we have tonight....you gotta trust the Thirst my boy!)
"his has started out as a series dominated by pitching, but no one ought to count on it staying that way, not in this place that has unusual jet streams swooping in from off the right-field roof, cutting across the stadium, then backtracking into a mighty jet stream that sends a wind-tunnel effect from home plate into right center field."

I posted something a few weeks ago about this MIGHT happen. The wind blows in over the stadium in the outfield and dips down into the field which creates an eddy. The wind then "rebounds" after it hits the ground and can push the ball higher to go over the fence.
This is the same principle that salmon use to jump over a rapid when swimming upstream.

I'm having trouble recreating your math based on the statfox info. Can you show the calculation? TIA.
Sure....here is the line from todays umpire from the TB/LAA game
below:
Strikeouts(19.1) minus Base on balls (5.3)= 13.8 minus Avg era (3.4)= UMPY FACTOR # 10.4.........which means, I go under because there are way more strikeouts than there are base on balls and run generating hits comparatively.
I am even considering tweaking into the formula total runs per game avg. = 7.4 but I am not sure if it is a measurable factor... need to observe more patterns

Nice....Geography and Science...I keep saying I love the critical thinking and I mean it!! Nice going guys....nothing like adding a little science/geography to the game of baseball if it means ! Lets test our theory tonight and over the next while. I will post a jetstream alert in the future!

I called Texas O10.5 this morning as a personal Recommendation without any umpire influence......Its up to 11 now but I am about to start a new thread on which game total will go higher: TEX/MINNY or PHIL/COL.......gonna set the line at COL/PHIL -1.5 and we shall see where people go.....you should have enough time to make a decision if you wish to see how people debate this.
