@fubah2 Hello!! Good call in both games. After how many games without a bad outing is it likely that pitchers will have a bad outing? I know you've mentioned it, but I can't remember the number right now. Regards and thanks
OK... after 7 consecutive without a BAD in the bunch...
First, Thursday does not have any "HOT STREAK" alerts to consider...
Second, here is what I used to attach to every posted hot starter alert:
"Make no mistake, this dude and others I will identify in the future are GOOD starters - some of them exceptional! HOWEVER, probability says "consecutive streaks won't last long"...All GOOD pitchers will have an "off" day and get roughed up - sometimes mauled - before they resume their stellar pitching performances again. It happens to the best of them. Just CAN NOT be avoided.
When??? We can't know that for certain but my stats over many years indicate the time to start to worry is after they reach SEVEN (7) consecutive outings without a BAD one in that bunch (at any point in the season, not just from the start) Sure some HOT streaks may continue for 2 or 3 more performances. It happens! But for me, I don't need the stress that his bubble may burst that day. There's other games to look at. I can simply skip those "STREAKER" dudes until *AFTER* their inevitable BAD outing, then resume looking at his starts after that!"

Consider these key stats after his 12 starts: • 0.87 WHIP! best in MLB! • 2.08 ERA! best in MLB! • only 4 homers; tied for 3rd best (with at least 10 starts) • only 2 BAD outings out of 12! = very consistent!!! • Mariners won 9 of his 12 starts! • in 5 home starts no BAD outings; Mariners won all 5!
Good news/Bad news for backing the Mariners:
• Mariners are a HHF. That's a red flag. CAUTION!! • Mariners have lost 2 straight at home is actually encouraging for Mariners backers as a home team with a winning record usually AVOIDS being swept at home! • but weak hitting Tiggers have suddenly got hot at the plate! • Tigers won 2 straight against decent Mariners starters (Castillo/Kirby) but WOO is definitely THE BEST (providing he gets run support!!!!!!!) • still don't know the Tiggers starter (speculation is Maeda) • if Maeda, the formerly good pitcher (LAD and Minn) is really struggling this year with Detroit. BAD numbers! Consistently bad! Even worse on the road!
If MAEDA is the Detroit starter, I may seriously consider Mariners despite the HHF tag...depending on ML juice
Feel free to comment as you wish...

This STARTER is riding a tenuous 12-game HOT STREAK,
WITHOUT a BAD outing in that streak .....YET!
...but this should be anticipated to end at anytime!!!
KIRBY, Mariners
WARNING was posted for the Wednesday game... Kirby did have a BAD outing Wednesday and the home fav Mariners (-142 close) LOST, ending Kirby's streak of 12 consecutive without a BAD outing.
Hope my warning was of use to some...

Some new reliever is going tonight for Detroit. Doesn't change anything as far as I am concerned as I am still LEANING to Mariners BoL tonight, fellas
WINNER! WOO did not pitch a BAD outing, and the Mariners win!
My posted LEANS since ASB are now 7 - 1
