This STARTER is riding a tenuous 9-gameHOT STREAK,
WITHOUT a BAD outing in that streak .....YET!!!
...but this should be anticipated to end at anytime!!!
WALDRON, Padres @BoSox
*Impressive hot streak of 9 games, never allowing more than 2 earned runs! ....and the Padre's team has only yielded 15 runs (discounting extra innings) in his 9 hot streak starts!!! Whether he has a poor outing or not may not necessarily mean Padres loseIF their hot bats continue yet again... Indicators suggest Padres at only -110 could be a GIFT! BUT...YOU make da call...

padres -105 for me

TWINKIES bats have really picked it up past 3 weeks since ending their 5 game losing skid!!! 127 runs scored in just 19 games..... = whopping 6.6 rpg!! They face Castillo today.... 3 of his last 4 starts were poor, with Mariners allowing 8, 6, and 11 runs in those 3 losing starts.
Meanwhile, by my judgement, RYAN (Twins) has only had 4 "bad outings" (one of those marginal!) in his 16 starts....... ie, 12 - 4
Only 3 times has he been tagged for more than 3 earned runs in those 16 starts!
His 0.96 WHIP stat is one of the TOP in MLB!

Waldron hot streak ENDED!!
6 hits (2 homers) 4 runs scored in only 4.1 ip is a "BAD" outing.
3 earned runs is iffy and could be called either way in my stats depending on his other game stats. But his WHIP was poor, and 3 earned runs against in LESS THAN 6 full ip is the cutoff lione for me to make the determination. And it looks like the HIT STREAK for the team bats has also ended.
Hopefully many of you saw my warning above and backed OFF the Padres, despite the team's recent hot streak at the plate.

I have followed you quite some time. Your posts are full of insight. They are written though as if you could go either way on a wager, you really do not come out on one side or the other except when game almost over or over. Just saying.

Unfortunately the way I read your post you were on the Padres.
Unfortunate.
Ultimately, my starter HOT STREAK warningsalways meanI AM PASSING, and recommend others do the same. There are plenty of other bets on the board and we just don't need the stress knowing a "bad" outing has high probability after a long hot streak... This rationale is stated often.
Houck and Ragans yesterday......Waldron today....

@pjlvio
In retrospect, I can see now where my posts about various streaks (pitching and run-scoring) might come off as ambiguous. Generally speaking, for years I have always warned about streaks/regression. I avoid streaks typically and choose to pass due the uncertainty surrounding a highly increased chance of the streak (pitcher or run-scoring) may abruptly come to an end......the old "if it looks too good to be true" adage....
However, I don't want to be the cause of confusion so going forward I will be more specific and less ambiguous.
Also, if I don't actually post a bet on it, then I am NOT on it. (Passing)
And sorry for any misunderstanding I caused.

June 09 - June 29 (past 3 weeks) Home Team HEAVY FAVS (ie, -170 and up) 45 - 9 +26.92*u (9 of those home wins by just 1 run) *Dismissing all -300 SUPER HEAVY FAVS; always an ill-advised risk anyway Likely Sunday: Braves, Phillies, Rays, CWS, Dbacks... possibly Brewers 1 - 2 Saturday. So here is what a wise and savvy sports bettor might ask himself: will the HOT RETURNS betting HEAVY HOME FAVS continue, or is regression looming?
HEAVY JUICE HOME FAVS
Braves -196 LOSE! Rays -188 win. Brewers -196 win. Dbacks -198 win. CWS -260 LOSE! Phillies -260 won, but only by a single run, destroying RL bets.
