I'd like to start making one bet a day
on a 1st inning runs scored prop. I feel like with enough
analysis we can run up a nice record. I've been tracking this in
April and doing just fine, but with the input of more people I think
it can only improve.
That said, I use Bovada and their odds
seems harder to beat, especially on the no runs scored. A good
pitchers matchup can run from -150 to -165. I don't see a lot of
great value in that. So we may have to pick more yes bets, or just
shy away from the obvious pitcher's duels.
As for strategy, I like to look at the
lead-off hitters for both teams and how they fair against today's
starter. Getting the first guy out goes a long way in pitching a
scoreless frame.
Let me know what you guys think. If
anyone is willing to post a certain stat everyday, for example the
lead-off guy vs starter, let me know. As a group we should be able to
nail down a profit!

Didn't get a chance to see it. I'll take it though! I really like the Royals vs Padres NO runs scored tonight, but at -160 I'm not gonna get greedy. If it drops somehow, I'll bite.

that looks to me like the best play on the board today. of course not all lineups are out, but the 2 leadoff hitters in that game don't have good numbers against the starting pitchers. at -140, it's a bit steep, but might still be a good play.
anyone else have a suggestion or potentially helpful stats?

Detroit has the 2nd lowest 1st inning run rate. Houston is middle of the pack, neither team has put up a first inning run in their last 3 games. With Houston never having seen Robbie Ray, it will take a while to adjust. Detroit never really jumps out of the gate so once 3rd or 4th inning hits Detroit will get their bats goin.

Very nice post. That's helpful information I wasn't aware of. I'll have to consider that.

Thanks for the post natedogg. That's helpful stuff I hadn't considered. Based on the price that looks like a really good play. I'll decide what I'm gonna go with shortly.
