I could honestly see them using Archer as a 3 inning opener or so.
So, LC was not around for Post #600 and CheckChange slipped into the slot. Another long standing record shot to hell.

I have the Phoenix Open live on Eurosport2, they started a partnership with Golf TV, since the start of the year. We never had live golf on basic cable here, so I wasn't that familiar with the rules, but now I understand why people like to watch golf.
They have people in the stands at the #16 hole, a live testimony of why Key lives in MariCovid County

The Phoenix Open is the "Woodstock Music Festival" of professional golf. Way too crazy for most serious golf fans, but a ton of fun for partying drunks and girls eager to shed their clothes for the camera. Some pros avoid it like the plague, Tiger Woods and Phil Nickelson to name two, but the prizes draw top pros anyway. Fifteen years ago I worked a mile from the PGA-Scottsdale and we had to post security so the fans wouldn't flood company and customer parking lots. It was such a zoo I usually took Thursday and Friday off.

@KeyElement
Thanks for the info
I saw they allowed fans all over the course, but they also showed images from last years edition and it's clear the crowd size this year is limited, while mostly everyone was wearing a mask, in some areas there wasn't that much social distancing. I thought there might be fans allowed, since it's Arizona and all, because since start of the year they broadcasted the first 2 opens in Hawaii, then the one in La Quinta and last week the on in San Diego, no fans allowed at any of them. I saw that after this West Coast swing they will move to Florida, in a couple of weeks, I guess it will be worse there.
Btw, from the shots they showed, it looks like a gorgeous area.

You just made LC hit his head against the wall because he can not tell you what he thinks about that idea,
But I did mention relief pitchers doing first 2 innings to burn up innings and you all ignored that, Now it is your idea I see written.
LC I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN.

Bauer to the Dodgers, three years and $102 million dollars, with opt-outs after the first two years. Bauer will earn $40 million in 2021 and $45 million in '22. The '21 salary would make him the highest-paid player in MLB history, a record he would set again in '22.
Wtf, the Dodgers threw the bank at Bauer, that deal is just sick....

LC had a practice of posting each 100th post. 100, 200, 300 etc. You posted #600. No big deal, no offense, I was just commenting on something else that ended when LC was banned.

Owners again decide to keep the imbalance in revenue, at the expense of the game. Dodgers and Yankees can afford to pay ONE guy a third of poorer teams entire payroll. They jump and cheer when they win championships but never admit those championships were BOUGHT, not earned. If the owners had their way the Dodgers and Yankees would each win five championships per decade, and shout about being GREAT franchises. Money wins. If you don't have the talent, BUY IT. Sad situation. I wonder if the Dodgers have given 40 million dollars to pandemic relief in the L.A. area.

Well, I don't know how much money the Dodgers gave to Covid relief, what I do know is that Dodger Stadium has been used as a Covid vaccine site, for weeks now, so that must count for something.
Here is the issue imo, you can't fault the players for the money they make, nor the owners. If they didn't have the revenue, to spare, given the luxury tax, they wouldn't offer such contracts. Here in Europe there was a big debate this week, you've probably heard of Lionel Messi, his contract with Barcelona was leaked and generated a lot of buzz. I wont go into the numbers, because Messi is worth every penny he gets, since he generates more than he earns. The main problem, with these players making outrageous sums of money, is that it shows the growing wealth inequality in our societies, bu again you can't fault the players. These wages are a direct result of the free market, supply and demand generate revenue, if the money weren't there, the players wouldn't get paid, the outrageous sums they get.
I don't think the Yankees can be grouped with the Dodgers any more, the only reason the Yankees paid anything, in luxury taxes in the last couple of years, was because of that awful Ellsbury contract, otherwise they would've been under it, which is gonna be the case for this season.
The Dodgers will be in a class of their own now, in this 2021 season they will pay 3 guys 93.5 million $!!! How that doesn't create tension in the club house is a mystery. But this won't guarantee the Dodgers will dominate, it took them 3 trips to the WS, to actually win it, and it was in special conditions nontheless. I think this strategy, owners wise, of stacking talent is worse in the NBA, even though I don't have in depth knowledge there, it's more obvious that strategy pays off more often there, while in the MLB there are more variables in the game, that can go array and ruin a season.

I think Archer will be the 4 to 5 inning guy, not the 1 to 2 opener. Either way, the Rays will figure out the best way to get the most out of him.
I'm guessing some here don't approve of the opener role? Newsflash: all closers have been used wrong, including Mariano Rivera. In ten years the closer role will be extinct.
Regarding the Yankees not being the top spenders anymore... that's only because they finally tapped into some young, cheap talent. When those guys outgrow their rookie contracts, the team payroll will skyrocket. Judge, for example, made less than $2mil total over his first three seasons. The first three years of his free agen contract will be well north of $100mil.
