With the new lineup and guys coming back from injuries last year? Wouldn't be surprised to see a semi slow start, especially with all the hype on them..

They will be fine...   I am the most scared about Lackey and Beckett. But Beckett moving to 4th starter has to give him a real big kick in the ass...

It may happen, in fact i expect them to struggle for a few weeks but all will be fine in the end.

Yea we were just discussing this today, I think he will be fine though.. Can't be worse than last year.

ill tell you what i think will be the biggest problem, saltalasucchia behind the plate.  varitek was the king of handling a  staff and calling a game if nothing else.  and the pitchers loved him.  its obvious none of them are comfortable out there right now. now maybe thats because of the catching change..maybe not...but i think its huge.

no they just played the defending AL Champs- they are like the Heat with all of these offseason moves- will take some time so long as they are within reach of the division after the first month they'll be good to go

That's the nice thing about baseball. You'd have to lose ten games IN A ROW before feeling as bad as you do losing an NFL game. Everything will be fine.

We will be fine, not worried at all.. the bats will come alive at home and the pitching should settle in. Lester and Lackey had bad days, today the bats weren't there

Just dont understand why the sox have been considered heavy favs over the yanks. I dont have a problem with many picking them, but everyone? I mean boston has issues after lester/bucholz just like the yanks do in the rotation. Yanks have a better pen. Boston added 2 studs to the lineup but you know the yanks lineup is loaded also. So... i see it pretty even to me

Well Varitek is non existent at the plate and always has been and he gets 2nd stolen on him like it is free.. Salty is def not going to be a problem, and the bats need to get waken up. It was good to finally see Crawford get some hits though, guys just need to get a little better all around but it will come around. It is inevitable with these types of players

My relatives down in Boston tell me there is a hugh traffic jam as people are slowing down to a crawl in their cars watching Red Sox fans jump from the Tobin Bridge into the icy Mystic River below!!!
