Both teams had yesterday off and both are trying to build off of their last victory on Sunday. Toronto won 11-3 in Baltimore after lighting up Ubaldo Jimenez and the Twins ended up squeaking one out at home against the Royals vs. Vargas.
Morrow has given up over a hit an inning so far in facing only the Rays and Astros. Lefties are hitting 8/26 so far off of him, good for a .320 average, similar to that of last year. I would hope Mauer Power gets involved today. Morrow can be a wild card in this over/under bet, but I'm hoping he is friendly for us tonight. While I think the Toronto bats will do the talking, I think the Twins would also like to give Hughes his first win of the year at home.
The real reason for my over is this guy they call Phil Hughes. He's only gone 5 innings in each of his first two starts against the White Sox and A's. 10k's in 10 innings, good but he also has given up 12 hits, 4 walks, and 2 dingers already….good for a 1.60 WHIP which is way too high. And who knows their boy Philly like the Jays. Playing with the Yanks his whole career, he's been in 27 games against the Jays. Sporting a 4.86 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP is nothing to brag about with the career Jays numbers. I think the Jays know what this guy brings to the table and know they are more than capable of hitting him. Righties are hitting 7/18 already off of him this year, good for a .412 average…good thing the Jays only have Bautista and Encarnacion.
While I think the Jays will win here, I don't want to pay -130 on a road wild card pitcher. I'd rather roll the dice with one crap pitcher and one wild card pitcher and feel more confident with this hitting at least 8.
Over 7 ½ is the pick, good luck to all

Runner on all game can't get that big hit.... Need it soon... Blue jays lead off guy on four straight inning.... Strike out with less then two out with runner on third ....
