i've been avoiding the brewers as much as possible but i feel like if any of their pitchers can stop a losing streak it's fiers. and maybe w/ Braun finally hitting a HR last night, he might carry that over to tonight. I forgot he was on there team, and my fantasy team (kidding of course) , but maybe he's gonna get it going here ha

I am definitely more of an NL guy and follow the NL Central closely. As a fan of the Cardinals, I am always careful to pick my spots. I actually think I have bet against them more than for them this year (3 vs. 2) haha. Some fan I am, huh?
I dont think the Brewers are anywhere near as bad as they have been. Granted, being without Gomez is going to hurt them... the odds are in their favor to stop the bleeding tonight. At home, Fiers has the ball, and Marquis has been hit hard in both of his first 2 starts since coming back. The Brewers might not need much run support to get a win.

Fiers looks miserable, how could anyone bet on this guy? His mechanics are awful , has zero breaking ball, and throws a meatball fastball. Fading him the rest of the year

Thought I was definitely toast after Fiers gave up a 2-out grandslam following an error in the 3rd… somehow the Brewers bats came alive and they put up 4 in the bottom half! … oh wait, Fiers just gave up another two-out grand slam in the 4th
Pirates came back and took the lead, but Harrison just booted the 3rd out (allowing the tying run to score in the 7th).
Cards don't know how to drive in a run.

Yeah, def no fun being on the wrong side. However, I don't feel compelled to stop placing wagers when I have bad days or a bad collection of days. It happens. If you place wagers every day, you are bound to have very good days and very bad days. Many of the outcomes I have encountered in the last few days are not repeatable events from a probability perspective. I had a stretch last July/August where I probably hit 40% of my wagers over 100+ bets. It evened out with a strong September.
That said, I was tempted to take tomorrow off, but I am going to post a few picks for tomorrow. Thanks for the words though man. Appreciate it.

I am traveling tomorrow, so I won't be able to post my picks in a new thread - with updated records - after the Astros pick is graded. Looking like a solid 0-5 day though. First time for everything. $hit happens.
Four plays:
Cincinnati Reds (Cueto) FG, -121 --- Risk 1.50% of Bankroll
San Diego Padres (Shields) FG, -123 --- Risk 1.50% of Bankroll
Philadelphia Phillies (Hamels) FG, -121 --- Risk 1.00% of Bankroll
Chicago (Hammel) / Pittsburgh (Worley) Over 7 FG, -115 --- Risk 1.00% of Bankroll
Hope some of you had more success than I did today. Very disappointing. Tomorrow is a new day though, so there's always that!
One thing is for sure: I am in this for the long haul fellas.

I appreciate the picks , but I've got to stay away for a couple of days,, 0-5 leaves a mark no matter how you state it. You were on the wrong side of every bet besides Pittsburgh....Time for a break....every seasoned gambler knows sometimes you walk away for a little bit!...good luck to you

Thanks bud. Good luck to you as well.
It's certainly more fun when you're putting up + numbers every night, but I am committed to my strategy over the long-run.
That said, Daily results mean very little to me. I don't believe in runs. Yesterday doesnt affect tomorrow, good or bad.
There's a reason why people stop posting "10-3 over my last 13" or "7-0 run". It's bc "runs" and "streaks" revert to the mean performance. I am confident in my abilities and I honestly believe I will be in the green when all is said and done.
Now, if I find myself down more than a grand (i.e., ~20% of my beginning bankroll) I will probably need to reevaluate my strategy. This is why I keep detailed records of my wagers. I try to learn from them and constantly adjust. April can be tough as we get used to the new makeup of the various teams. I believe April and September are two of the toughest months to cap games.

While capping that CHC/PIT game did it ever make you wonder why they didn't put up an 8 or 8.5 ????
I have no clue what you're asking. 8 or 8.5 what? Inning game? If this is you suggesting the Pittsburgh bullpen is subpar, then I would respond by asking you how the Cubs' bullpen is any better. I will take Hughes, Watson and Melancon over the back-end of the BP of the Cubs any day of the week.
If this is a run total argument, then yes… I looked at it and thought the run total was on the low side and even said so in an earlier post in response to someone else.

Would you rather have your bet on PHI or WSH when it comes to winning one game on Wednesday ????
If I had to win one game, and all my money depended on it… and tomorrow was the day, then I would go with the Nationals. If i had to repeat it over and over again, then I would go with the Phillies.
