I can't believe I am hearing people talk about a lock in baseball. -300 is a bunch of juice. Do the cards win this game 4 out of 4 times? I don't know. This should be a fun thread to read though if the astros win.
I believe the Cardinals are 20-14, which means they lose 4 out of every 10 games played. So, no they don't win this 4 of 4 times.

You have a team that has lost 6 out of 8 going against a team that has won three in a row.
You have one pitcher who has lost 3 out of 4 to the opposing team, meanwhile this opposing pitcher has won all three games he has pitched against them giving up 0 runs.
Yet I read through all these posts and have found 2 people willing to take the Astros. I am not saying the Cards won't win, but to lay -300 or -145 on the Cards in this spot is absolutely ludicrous.

Carpenter has not lost 3 of 4 to the Astros. The Cardinals have lost 3 of the last 4 to the Astros that Carpenter started. However, he is 1-1 with 2 no decisions in those 4. The loss was back in 2006. In the 2 no decisions he was leading when he left the game.
Norris has won all 3 games against St. Louis but did give a 1 run (unearned).
Perhaps everyone is looking at the fact that Norris has otherwise been horrible this season. He was even losing the 1 game he ended up with a no decision.
That said you count me on the Astros so that is 3. I just feel that the line is simply too high.

Your right the oddsmakers simply saw the Cards losing two in a row to the Astros at home. And think most people will jump on the Cards. This was a quick and easy decision to make for the oddsmakers.
