St. Louis Cardinals +131
(i) Every pitcher has a team that they cannot shake. Well, the Cardinals have Gallardo's number. He is 1-7 with an ERA close to 7 in his last 11 starts versus St. Louis.
(ii) Kelley will be making his first start coming off the DL and will be on a low pitch count, but the Brewers are really struggling and have dropped 9 of their last 10 games while scoring only 21 runs.
(iii) No Molina hurts the Cardinals, but other players are starting to get hot (e.g., Adams, Holliday, Wong, and Carpenter)
I took the Over on this one.
Arizona Diamondbacks +151
(i) Yeah, the Diamondbacks pretty much blow this year, but the Giants have lost 21 of their last 29 games.
(ii) The Giants have scored only 34 runs in the last 15 games. Can they score 5+ runs if Goldy has his way with Lincecum tonight?
(iii) Lincecum is 1-8 with a 5.93 ERA / 1.48 WHIP vs. Arizona in 12 starts since 2011... including 0-2 with a 8.44 ERA in 3 starts this year
(iv) Paul Goldschmidt, while only one player, has the following splits vs. Lincecum: .577 BA with 7 HR and 17 RBIs in only 26 at bats. Plus, he is hot right now and batting .469 in July
