If the Tigers get beat by Zito and/or Vogelsong who all of a sudden is the new Cy Young they don't deserve to win.Lollipop man Zito could give up 7 runs and 5 walks at a drop a hat.Cy Vogelsong has pitched well at home but on the road I expect a total hammer job.

This is meaningless argument. The Tigers didnt have nearly the Yankees payroll @ ~$200M. Look at some of the big salaries that didnt do $h!t in that series...

Just because a team has a high payroll means nothing. There is negative impacts as well. What if a player doesn't produce? It is very difficult to trade him or anything else. Look at Soriano for example how is he doing? The Cubs want to trade him but can't due to a bad contract....goes both ways..always not a receipe for success.

I will agree with that one as Verlander can lose just like anyone else.There is no lock in any sport anymore Too much parity but all I am saying is that I think the Giant worship is overblown. Its just my opinion. As for betting purposes I have no interest in the game and/or series but as a bettor if I were betting I would be on the Giants at plus money as well.But to me its a toss up either way.

Ummmm i didnt include those because i wasnt talking about that players doing WELL against Zito, nor was i talking about Giants hitters against Verlander.  I was talking about the Tigers struggling against Zito lifetime.  As soon as im off work i am throwing together info on both sides for anyone thats interested.

something to help your argument is that Zito has over a 5 ERA when tonights home plate umpire is behind the dish.

But don't think it is better when struggling against someone and knowing how he pitches you versus someone the Giants haven't seen much in as Verlander? I know you are just making good points Absolutx, no problem with you either. I can tell you know and love baseball just as much as I do.

I do have to say though the reason I brought up the Tigers path to the WS was because this is a gambling thread and we are analyzing every aspect. I am not taking anything away from them because they had to play who they had to play, we can change anything about that. I mean they swept the Yankees, they couldnt do anything better than that. I just feel that the AL has been soft for a couple years and especially so this year. In that sense, I still think this team is a WS contender regardless, they have a great staff. I love Verlander and Fister. Not a big fan of Sherzer, but he is pitched well. We will see how they fare, also Verlander could be blamed for the home field advantage, which matters because AT&T has a great atmosphere and it is extremely loud when the opposition is struggling. Verlander is a great pitcher and it is hard to go against him, but as a TEAM I like the Giants at home with the momentum and the value is great.

Dont even start the payroll conversation especially with the A's being a serious contender with the last place payroll. That shit matters, but thats not a discussion for this thread.

Im not sure if the under is a the safest bet because it could get dicey out there with pitchers getting pulled early. Some weird defensive plays. 6.5 is low, but we will see. I dont play sides because I think it's not smart.

I know baseball and I played as well. I really dont give a fuck what you think, we will see what happens tonight.
