You can get something real nice for 3,000 mo in Manhattan for sure.... maybe not as nice as the upper east side but you would certainly be living.

A nice studio in a doorman bldg with free gym, maybe pool.
Or a decent one bedroom in a semi-desirable neighborhood. Not much more than 800 sq ft at $3k/mo though.

Really? I was guessing 3K still wouldn't be enough for anything decent in Manhattan.

800 square feet! That's a thimble!

Sorry Bator, but I'm afraid $3,000 won't get you a "nice plush condo". You can prob get a large 1 bedroom in a walkup no-doorman building, but any of the nicer, newer condo's will set you back much more than $3k.
