Spark,he is soft and I can't really say anyone knows what happened to him this season.I am waiting for the injury excuse but as far as a game 7 if we can get there I think its a inning or 2 of Happ to start and then all hands on deck for the same.Could only hope we get to that point as a fan of the phils.

Well this couldn't be anymore obvious... Hammels is a new father and he obviously does not have his mind in the game like he should. You get out of something what you put into it and he no longer is putting his energy and focus towards baseball.. If I was Charlie Manuel no way in hell do I let Hammels pitch under these circumstances again he already proved he isn't up to the challenge the entire post season why would it change for game #7?

PHILADELPHIA – Phillies pitchers Brett Myers(notes) and Cole Hamels(notes) had a short but tense confrontation in the team’s clubhouse following Game 5 of the World Series, according to one witness, words that stemmed from Hamels’ recent statement that he was eager for his season to end.
As Myers walked past Hamels near Hamels’ locker he said, mocking, “What are you doing here? I thought you quit.” Hamels, the witness said, responded with an expletive.
Before the situation escalated, Myers was guided away by a team official.
In an otherwise happy Phillies clubhouse – they beat the Yankees, 8-6, on Monday night to force Game 6 – Myers poked at a sore topic for Hamels. The 25-year-old left-hander has had a difficult regular season, then in four postseason starts has a 7.58 ERA. When the Yankees beat him in Game 3, an unhappy Hamels said of the season, “I can’t wait for it to end. It’s been mentally draining. At year end, you just can’t wait for a fresh start.”
His quote did not sit well with some teammates, apparently, and even manager Charlie Manuel was perplexed by it. “I was surprised when I heard that,” Manuel said. “I was surprised at that. But I don’t really understand exactly how he meant that.”
Hamels is said to be disturbed by the reaction to what he believed to be an innocuous comment. In the same interview, he repeatedly said he hoped to pitch Game 7 if the series goes that far.

Know the facts before you read an overblown media hype story. Myers denied saying it, but even if he did, he wouldve just been fucking around with Hamels. They are good friends and drive to the stadium together every day.

Hamels is the worst type of player you could ever have on your team. Phillies should kick him off the team that is what could rally the team. This phillies team does have a lot of heart and its a shame a guy like that is someone they have to deal with. Anyways go Yanks.

I don't doubt that what Hamels said was taken out of context. But........he's still a little bitch. A teammate wouldn't have gotten in his grill if he wasn't already disliked in the clubhouse. Philly should hand the ball over to Happ if there is a game 7, which I believe there will be. Go as far as you can with him then take whatever Lee has left in the tank. Fuck Hamels.

Why is Manuel even starting Hamels? This could be the reason they do not repeat. I thought he should not have been the #2 starter against COL and the Dodgers. If I can see this why can't Manuel?
