You are a legendary poster and the info and details are outstanding.  I think the yankees lose 2 of 3 to Dodgers.

Win 2 of 3 or all 3 in Seattle.  Oakland, I have no feel for but I will take a hard look later.  5-4 or 4-5 is still really good alert for a team

hitting the way Yankees do.  I bet against them Sunday and won for fun.  No problem fading the poor pitching or taking a solid pitcher against them

at better than true odds.  Bailey did well vs Yankees recently, probably join you tonight but fading German is no joke, in Boston he looked really good on road.

"German is not nearly as good (on the road) as he's perceived to be and that Homer Bailey (at home) is not as bad as he's perceived to be."

Great write-up. What do you think about taking the A's team total over 4 @-120?

Hard to argue with something, in this extended preview, i don't think anything meaningful was overlooked, this a really comprehensive look at the NY Yankees and as someone who follows the team closely, there isn't much i don't agree with or could add.

I guess the phrase which defines the Yankees this season is: the next man up. Even though it's mind-boggling, for a team to have so many injuries, i guess their depth saved them, coupled with breakout seasons for guys like Urshela or Tauchman.

Pitching wise, imo their bullpen lived up to the expectations, with minor fails here and there, but overall they've been solid, especially since the injuries to the main rotation forced them to use an opener strategy, which proved to be highly efficient: Yankees are 10-2 when Green is used as an opener. Here is an insane stat: when Kahnle, Ottavino, Britton and Chapman are used in a game with a lead, the Yankees are 22-0!

The starting pitching has been the Achilles heal of this Yankees team, they have a 4.50 ERA, but the worst part of this pitching staff, that has plagued all the starters, is the long ball, they've given up 205 home runs, way more than any other respectable rotation of any top teams.

This upcoming schedule is brutal, yeah they have a comfortable lead but there is a real risk they could o 1-5 after these 6 games. There is something strange about German, he has good stuff, especially his off-speed, if he has that going for him he can keep the team in the game, until the bullpen to step in, but when his off-speed is not working he tends to go to his fastball, which kinda gets hit hard.

The Athletics have lost only one season series to New York since 2011, going 5-1-1 while winning 29 of 46 games. The clubs complete their 2019 set on Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Yankee Stadium.

I rather see the Yankees getting swept in LA, than in Oakland, if not German tonight, maybe Tanaka on Thursday can get them a win, especially Tanaka, who seems to have ended his slump, his last 2 outings have been encouraging.

    Again, great write-up MrBator

No way can I back Homer Bailey.  A's could indeed win but not before Bailey has given up a few homers.  I like the over.

Hope Oakland wins but will probably be on the over because Bailey on 5 days rest is about 6.50 ERA

He tied a season high in strikeouts that night with 9 and he recorded them in just 16 outs.  That's why he looked so tough. He was no doubt fired up for that game given that his team really needed him to help stop the bleeding after getting their as.ses kicked three days in a row. Still, though, in the end his pitching line was five and a third and 3 earned runs allowed.  Nothing special, but compared to how his brothers Tanaka, Paxton, and Sabathia fared the previous three days, German's 5 and a third, 3 runs and 9 Ks must have seemed like a huge improvement. That's understandable.

I can understand and also empathize with those out there in the sports betting universe who are afflicted with Homer Bailey PTSD. I'm here to counsel those troubled souls by reporting to you that since that ghastly night at Minute Maid Park one month ago, Mr. Bailey has allowed just one longball in 24.1 innings. Furthermore, he has allowed none in his three home starts for the A's. In his nine home starts for the Royals this season, he served up only 5 home runs in 49.2 innings. To recap, that's 5 home runs allowed in a dozen home starts.  It doesn't help that his name is "Homer", I agree.

Don't shortchange Homer Bailey, lol. He's having a hard enough time shaking his reputation.  He pitched 7 innings.  Two hits, one walk, seven strikeouts.

The Yankees are 0-4 this season on the road following an off day, losing 3-1 in Arizona, 4-3 in Toronto, 5-4 to the White Sox in Chicago, and 4-2 to the Mets in New York.
