CWS vs KC series is really crazy recently. CWS won 2 of 3 meetings this season but they trailed by 3 and 4 in those two wins and led by 4 in their only loss to KC this season. Two games were decided in OT and the third game was decided by a single run that was scored in the bottom of the 9th. Three of last six meetings in 2010 were decided in overtime and crazy things happened in two of three other games. Once KC led by 6 and lost the game and once they led by 2 late in the game and lost on CWS last at bat. 7 of last 9 meetings were decided by 1 run or in OT. The underdog is 5-4 in last 9 meetings. The underdog is 8-1 with the alternative runline of +2.5 in last 9 meetings. White Sox are 0-8 in last 8 as small dogs or any favorites after beating KC by less than 3 runs in the previous game of the same series.

paulino's era is just over 3 in his last 7 appearances and cws never saw him before. peavy was knocked around in his last three starts where he allowed 13 er in 15.1 ip. his only good appearances in a while was a relief effort against then ice-cold nationals. this is basically his 4th start in last 14 days if we count that 4 inning effort in relief as a start. he also pitched in colorado last time he played and that ballpark wears pitchers down especially when throwing over 100 pitches there.
