Just a poll: Does anyone feel bad for ARod?

I am the farthest thing from a Yankee fan (true Red Sox fan, dark times last few years lol)   but everyone giving A-Rod S*** has to remember, THE YANKEES ARE THE ONES THAT OFFERED THE CONTRACT!!!!  Yes, one can definitely be frustrated at his lack of production, but it kills me when Covers members attack players for the size of their contracts...would ANY of us have turned down the $$$$$ he is getting, saying "Well, I know I might be good for another year or two, but then I'm sure my body will break down, so...nahhhhh I'll only accept 6 mil in years 4-7"     lolllll    come on.....you have to put a large chunk of the blame on the GM and the higher-ups on the organizations...yes they don't play the game, but they are the ones that are making the decisions that affect their team and brand today, tomorrow and in the future....go after A-Rod (and others) for struggling when they should be stepping up, but stop bringing money into this....

Why would anyone feel sorry for any Yankee player?

Arod is just one example but to me the amount of money he is making per year on this contract has completely changed his life. He was married and probably planned to be a family man for the rest of his life. Unfortunately when he received this contract he decided to go out and party it up and fuck a different woman every night when he was still married. Finally his wife had enough of his bullshit and divorced his cocky ass. If he had of looked after himself properly he could still be a dominant player in this league but he chose to go another route and now he is a below average player.

I would have agreed with this fully if he hadn't gotten the biggest contract in history the FIRST time he signed with the Yanks, and that was after he had gotten PAID when he jumped from the Mariners to the Rangers....I am definitely not an A-Rod supporter I promise you that, but I don't think that the change in total amount of money earned over the past 5 years in his life is what led him to divorce his wife....it was more of a general realization that even though he had a wonderful family, he wanted his cake and to eat it too, as you said go plow every beautiful woman he sees just for the sake of saying he did it because he could. Unfortunately we see far too many individuals take this route when they are given something life-changing (money, fame, power)  And let me be clear I'm not condoning or condemning A-Rod's actions, who is to say if I was in his situation I wouldn't do the same thing? Just looking at his situation as a case study of what sometimes happens when someone is given a ton of money to play a game....
