Hey guys, thanks for checking out my thread. I will be using this thread to keep track of my system plays which uses a 3 game chase. I will keep my record posted, but only for system wins and losses. For those that don't know what the 3 game chase is, here is a quick explanation.
In the MLB, teams usually play another team three times in a row, hence, a 3 game series. The system is to basically pick a team for that series and to try and avoid a sweep (going 0-3 in the series). So, you would bet on game 1 for the team, and if they win, then you're done for the rest of that series and you would no longer bet on that team. If the team chosen loses game 1, then you would then bet them on game 2, to win the amount you lost in game 1 + the amount you wanted to win. If you lose games 1 AND 2, you would then bet game 3 the amount lost in games 1 and 2 + the original amount you wanted to win. I will give examples below to illustrate this using easy numbers.
Example 1:
SF Giants (-110) -- Risk $55.00 to win $50.00
Giants Win Game 1. +$50.00
Stop here and collect the $50.00
Example 2:
SF Giants (-110) -- Risk $55.00 to win $50.00
Giants Lose Game 1. -$55.00
You would then bet on Game 2 the following day, playing to win the $55.00 you lost + the original $50.00 you wanted to win, for a total of $105.00.
SF Giants (-110) -- Risk $115.50 to win $105.00
Giants Win Game 2. +$105.00
In this case, you've netted $50.00 for the series ($105.00 for winning game 2 - $55.00 lost in game 1).
You would then stop and collect that $50.00, or repeat the process if they lost game 2.
So the only way you would lose $$ is if the team you picks loses all three games in the series, which in MLB, is pretty difficult. So I will keep track of SYSTEM wins, not individual games!!!
