Someone talking up the Orioles in this thread has failed to mention - if he's even aware of it - that the O's are currently without Andrew Jones in their lineup. Since his absence due to back issues, the O's have scored 3 total runs in 4 games against AL pitching. A pitching advantage doesn't mean a helluva lot when your own lineup sucks so much donkey person it's struggling to score anything. Jones may not have put up MVP stats this season, but he is the psychological linchpin for that lineup. I'm not here to say the Jays are any sort of lock, but my money doesn't ever get put on any team missing such a pivotal bat unless their odds demand it (and I'm not seeing anything like +200 here for a team that sucks and whose playoff hopes are dead in the water, vs. a team still with everything to play for in what remains of the reg. season). Covers match-up page says Jones status is only questionable for Tuesday's game. O's would have to be stupid as an organisation to play him at all for the rest of their (now dead) season, but his status is something I'd want to know before placing any sort of bet on either team here.
