Ya i see your point. I'm just not sure the way the CWS have been playing that they even win 20 out of 100 game vs the jays this season LOL. GL to everyone today.

...and yet they probably would win closer to 40/100 if not more... you are right about the PERCEPTION of the 2 teams right now, and if the Jays were closer to even money I'll bet GH would have been on THEM today - the LINE dictates the play

Niemann has allowed almost 2.5 runners per inning in his last three starts and I am not impressed with him at all....the Jays pen has been overused and is shorthanded and just added Jason Isrinhhausen....the A's still have a decent lineup and I think Gallagher is more than capable and should improve on his second start.

It just enrages me that they don't open the roof in Toronto unless conditions are absolutely perfect...

It is 60 degrees and absolutely gorgeous weather for this holiday Monday (in Canada)!!!

Not a cloud in the sky anywhere ... and I live about a mile and a half from the stadium...

Then they wonder why attendance is so disappointing

    GH,

What are your thought on Detwiler?  I see he has solid numbers in the minors this year, but wondering if you know/have seen more.

I was thinking about backing Ohlendorf at +117 - he is not spectacular but has impressed me of late. Plus the whole Wash bullpen awful/overused issue.

Happy- Assuming no bad weather on the way which would force them to close the roof during the game, I wouldnt say that 60 degrees is "perfect" baseball weather. Too cold. You want to make the fans as comfortable as possible and if given the choice between 60 degrees and a climate controlled 73 degrees, most would prefer the 73 degrees. Nobody would set thier home AC tempature to 60 and if the owner of a retaurant, mall or movie theater set it to 60, you'd say they were crazy. I'm in Miami, so my opinion would be a bit off as compared to someone from Canada as far as cold is concerned, but we'd have the opposite opinion regarding the heat. I may think 80 degrees is perfect, but you'd say it was too hot. It's all a personal preference, but the owners want fans comfortable as possible.

When the whole point is to make sure you win your bet, there is no "value" in a loss. From what i can see there are not stats or history to back this play.....

Good points.  Richmond looks pretty good to me and the Jays or their pitchers shouldn't be on any fade list.

Yep, I locked in FLA at +124 last night on Matchbook and it's already at +108 right now. Good picking, GH. Not sure how many of those I'll be on, have to look at everything myself, but BOL all the same.

I'm on WAS hard today...I see you've backed off of playing the Nats too much haha. Detwiler isn't ready for the show yet but I think his stuff gets him through a start since nobody's seen him. Ohlendorf is pitching way over his head and the reasoanbly hot Nats bats should expose him.

Hindsight is 20/20. As has been mentioned so many times, if you don't have anything positive to contribute PREVIOUS TO THE START OF GAMES, DON'T SAY SHIT AFTER IT STARTS. I agree the price on Richmond after his last couple of starts (on top of his still VERY short resume) in no way warranted a -160 price. This game isn't even over.

But all of this is besides the point. If you don't have anything to contribute, keep your comments to yourself.

Right, except I said UNLESS the weather is perfect they don't open it, not TODAY"S weather is perfect.  I would prefer 70 but 60 is fine with me.  Just got in and it people here myself included are wearing shorts and short sleeves and playing frisbee in the park

Baseball is meant to be played outdoors and the purpose of the dome is for rain or severe cold only  IMHO

the roof is fucking broken, thats why they cant open it.

It hasn't been open all year, even days when it was 27 out and hot.  If you think they wont open it cuz its only 15 (or 60) out you are crazy.  They have always opened it on days like that.  Especially day games.

I agree, I like baseball outside, so I'd watch a game whether it was 60 or 85. But with sports trying to compete for the fans' limited dollars, you have to cater to the masses. If there is any chance people will not go to a game because of the weather (be it too hot or cold), and you can eliminate it, you have to. This holds especially true for cities with very fickle fans.

We'll have a dome here in Miami for the Marlins in a couple of years. And although we have some of the best weather in the country, you can be pretty much assured it will be closed 90% of the time after April or so.

LOL I see your point - irony is I would have gone today if they had opened it... I've seen more atmosphere on assembly lines, but with the roof open its a passable stadium but a really nice urban setting and surrounding area - CN tower seems to shoot right out of Rogers Centre as it is right next door.

I hope you are wrong about the new dome you're getting for baseball's sake ...  you do get a ton of rain at Marlins home games though.

Relax dude.  We were debating the White Sox earlier.  Now lets debate the Yankees.  Considering the theory about 4 game sweeps The Twins should be an even stronger play now?

I am not so sure about that.  Some different circumstances in NY right now.
